I'm looking at just doing the headers and cats and keeping it stock from there back. Cat forward if you like.

Will probably do Pacemaker's 1 3/4" tubes.

It will be interesting to see what it's like with a tune. Sound will probably change slightly too but hopefully not much.

Looked under the car while it was on the hoist for service and the right hand side will be tricky, fortunately I have a mate with a hoist and required skills.

This guy went back to stock catback with headers, sounds good - pretty sure he's catless so you shouldn't be quite as loud

Just for fun here's a track video he posted with (I think) the ford racing sport catback mated to the headers - incredible but so loud

I can guarantee you, you won't be disappointed. It sounds much better than the videos
Yep I can vouch for that. Got mine fitted today and very happy with the small investment which has significantly improved the idle note, the rumble through the gears, and now the exhaust note crackles while decelerating.

I need your help guys, I've listened to just about every exhaust video I could find on youtube and cannot make my mind up. I feel like videos don't do the justice and it's very hard to judge from it alone whether it's the sound I'm after or not.

In short, I'm looking for something that:
- in idle and low rev range gives you the true muscle car sound - deep tone and that almost gargling, flehmy sound
- in higher rev range, sounds more "exotic", but not too raspy/farty
- does not drone
- is not riddiculously loud
- does not sound like any other P-Plate Commodore pulling off donuts at the end of my street
- does not sound like a Pterodactyl giving birth either

So far, I think, I have shortlisted it to the following:
- Corsa Sport (does it sound like a muscle car in idle/low revs?)
- Magnaflow Street (drone?)
- Borla S-Type (bit too farty)
- ARH catback (maybe too deep all the way theough the rev range)

So my question to those who already have any of those installed - how do you like it? Would you recommend it? How does it match up against my search criteria? And where did you order it from?

Also, there's a question on black vs chrome tips, what did you go with and how's cleaning of them?

You know, I reckon I'd have similar requirements, except I'd like for it to sound like a thousand Pterodactyls giving birth to earth movers while the world is being destroyed by a giant meteor storm above about say 6000rpms :)

Magnaflow and ARH are on my shortlist, but they don't do the above.

I'll tell you how the street sounds in a week or so once my car is delivered! But it sounds like you are after exactly what I was after. Which is why I settled on the street.

knaps, have you considered the Solo Performance exhausts?

Out of the options you've listed, I'd go the Corsa Sport. Not that I've heard one in person yet, the ARH is the only on that list I've heard and while it sounded great, will be too deep for what you're looking for.

Having heard a few exhausts now, I have a feeling I bought the right exhaust to do as above haha

But I bought it because I'd like to hear it a bit more in normal driving too, I very rarely get above about 3500rpm anyway

Anyone got a source for ARH in Australia/Melbourne ????

So Corsa sport checking in, I think you heard my car at the mustang meet in Melbourne. It doesn't drone, has more of the 'exotic' type at high rpm at low rpm you can barely notice it to be honest which for me is a benefit

Corsa sports is the only answer... I have 3000k on mine. Amazing

I have the black chrome tips and it looks awesome. Have you heard them in the flesh?

Hi knaps, as Aus-MustangGT, and Melbnut have mentioned I cannot recommend the Corsa Sport more highly. I have 8k on my car, and still get a buzz listening to it. On a cold start it is quite noisy, but settles down after about 20 seconds. It may not be as loud as some other systems at idle, but from 2k upwards it sounds amazing, and has that more exotic sound that you are after.

I went for a run with a friend who has the Xforce catback. Although it sounds good, IMO there is no comparison with the Corsa. We sat at a set of lights and gave both cars a bit of a rev like schoolboys. You could only hear the Corsa, and it crackles and pops when you lift off.:headbang:

I have the chrome tips and haven't had dramas keeping them shiny. I thought about the black tips but couldn't justify the extra expense, and would like to see them in person first!

I'm sure Aus-MustangGT has mentioned Jay from Hypermotive before. But he was excellent to deal with, extremely well priced, and the exhaust was delivered within a week.

Amazing, thanks for the responses guys!

I heard Aus-MustangGT's Corsa Sport live about a week ago and really liked it, hence it jumped to the top of my list :)

Previously I was quite sold on Borla, but it may be a bit too loud and raspy with not enough deep tone to it, which is what I'm primarily looking for. Also the tips are not the prettiest looking.

I think it will come down to Corsa Sport vs. Magnaflow Street, but as long as Corsa can give me that deep muscle car tone at lower revs, I think I'm sold.

I've just had the Borla S Type cat back fitted and I was shocked how deep it sounded, wasn't expecting it as everyone said it was too raspy.
