Quoted me 150aud for importing a catback exhaust + 10% gst on goods & shipping once it gets to the country, only bad thing is, it takes few months since it's being shipped by sea but I'm not in any hurry since I only get my car in August / September. So it's a good option for people to go with if they don't mind waiting few months.
Hmm, isn't it 15%? That does hurt. My shipping was about 300 bucks, didn't have to pay any duty.

I didn't realise they'd do something that large though, good to know.

Im not sure, Well they have said 10%, but thats no matter what even for 100$ product, as its a freight so the 1000$+ rule does not apple like normal postage. I am shipping a intercooler through them with a ship leaving the west coast next week, hope to get it in the next 4-8 weeks

If you are a business importing goods you pay 5% duty, unless you can get an exemption because there is no Australian manufacturer that can produce a similar product, this exemption is almost impossible to get. Then you pay 10% GST if the shipment value is over $1000.00. That would be where the 15% comes from.

getting my mbrp race catback installed today, a bit nervous as I'm not sure how loud it will be!
How did you go?

I installed the MBRP Street cat back last weekend - and it was pretty loud. so I guess the race one would be even louder...

Very happy with it, yeah it's loud but I don't think it's too loud! Haven't heard many to compare, but it definitely has a nice deep sound to it.

Headers question.

Has anyone investigated the warranty issues with headers and a tune? what are your dealers saying?

I just spoke to a workshop that said its a warranty void with either of these things, same as high flow cats. Cat to back is fine however.

Now that was from the workshop that works with the dealer not the dealer themselves. I am awaiting a response from them.

I am definitely going the hurricane 3" cat to back, but this gem of info may kill my hurricane headers idea.

Also on the headers note, I have now been told by four workshops not to bother as the power gains are negligible and the same can be achieved with CAI, cat to back and a tune.

It is all very confusing.

Pretty standard warranty question faced by all makes/models. Generally power train warranty will be voided with a tune, as they can say that more power = more stress.

If you're worried about that kind of thing then just wait until warranty is over before doing the full exhaust. Some companies offer their own separate warranty (roush KPM etc) which could we worth investigating.

Your headers question is subjective though, seat of the pants you will feel that's there's more torque, compared to stock at least. The increase of headers/tune vs tune only won't be massive, not worth it to me at least. But I did choose the Xtreme, so there ain't a hope in hell I will add headers to that haha

I here ya......

On what I understand you will void warranty IF any mod you have done can be directly related to a failure...Lower your car, suspension is now not covered, Exhaust will really only void Exhaust warranty, tuning is a grey area....If you blow a motor they will point to you and say it's the tunes fault and you need to prove otherwise, If a water pump leaks you have warranty, If you get an oil leak your covered etc ..

I ask myself is the extra 40-50hp worth the grief? the cars are quick enough to exceed the freeway speed limit in 2nd gear, 0-100kph down with some damn fast cars....Ultimately I will do a nice exhaust giving it the sound it deserves, maybe drop it an inch for a nicer look and ride and just drive it as it is.......Full exhaust, tune and air intake @ approx $6000 for maybe 50-60hp that you can only just feel, voiding warranties, for what? street racing cred? brag factor? don't worry im the worst offender for mods but I'm trying to use my head to lead this time not my wallet....Car forums are the worst sometimes...I remember on the LS1 forum a mates signature
Buying car mods I don't need, to impress people I don't know, with money I don't have, lol....

That's pretty funny OZDAZ5.0. I agree. Its the sound and the look I want. Drop it and inch and give it a rumble. I need to focus on that. I had this magic number of needing to get to 340kws in my head. God knows why. I need an affirmation, I am not Fangio, I am not Fangio, there are speed limits, I am not Fangio, I am not Fangio

I was last week getting a blower then I thought....ummmm why? I will go to jail, I will get my Anoose blown out by a big black man named Daisy.....One quick squirt down the freeway on ramp will see me twice the speed limit and bang no license....Also No warranty from Ford, Yellow sticker material, and sketchy insurance....hmmmmmm I need to be realistic and logical..

But that whiiiiiiiine.....stop it.......fwooooosh (blow off valve).....STOP IT.....:frusty:

Has anyone got the Ford Racing Sport exhaust? Iam thinking of ordering it, would love to hear it in person.

I have one in my living room, unfortunately my car is still on a dock on the other side of the planet.... probably with the windows left down and the wrapper of some dock workers lunch under the passenger seat.

Best I can do is play the song of my people didgeridoo style and see if that produces the V8 sound desired.
