Wow, for a catback?! But then the valances aren't cheap...
Yep! Said something about having to work with Ford Racing to develop a model that was ADR compliant as the US version is obnoxiously loud and Ford has put a US$500 premium on top of the normal price for these.

What a crock of crap! They are just price gouging plain and simple.

Had a chat with Rob Herrod at Herrod Motorsport over the phone yesterday regarding the Ford Racing cat-back sport system with quad pipes and GT350 valance. He quoted $4500 for the system.

My jaw dropped when I heard the price!!!
Good old Herrod trying to price gouge with his exclusive exhaust, so his exlcusive exhaust has this product ID, which you can see from his video

M-5200-M8GC

You can buy this from CJ Pony Parts $1,681.21USD + shipping

So no Rob Herrod didn't have a special system designed and made for the Australian market, he is full of :censored:

Put on your detective hat! Some vendors fail to take into consideration that their customers may be as smart or smarter than themselves!!! And check prices elsewhere

If you work on their price of
$1695 + 30% for exchange rate =$2203 + 15% import duty =$2534 + say $500 to install = $3034 would be about right?
Shipping to Sydney is US$798.41 from Levittown using Fedex
Brings the total to US$2493.41

Who on earth is paying the US advertised prices in the first place?
From what I can see, they have shipping included (within the US), so for a start you're going to want that knocked off before they add your Aussie shipping.
And then there's the fact that certain manufacturers insist on a minimum "advertised" price, which is why the vendors here want you to PM them for pricing...
So yeah, you need to do your homework and yeah, as usual, the locals are playing games.

$2493US plus 30% (exchange rate) +15% import duty + $500 install makes it $4227 so quoting $4500 isn't that unrealistic? you could install yourself and no doubt save a bit.

You can use shipping forwarders, which will end up being $500usd cheaper, possibly longer in shipping.. and some vendors put the receipt price lower to help save on tax aswell. Either way when vendors in AU bring these parts in, they dont pay much in shipping as they bring it in a container.

$4500 is crazy :headbonk:

I didn't think shipping forwarders would do things as large as exhausts & valances?

It's a ridiculous price to pay for just a catback...

USAtoaus.com
Quoted me 150aud for importing a catback exhaust + 10% gst on goods & shipping once it gets to the country, only bad thing is, it takes few months since it's being shipped by sea but I'm not in any hurry since I only get my car in August / September. So it's a good option for people to go with if they don't mind waiting few months.
