He told me today he has a spreadsheet of DB readings of each of the catbacks he sells.
MF Comp
MF Street
Xforce...

Is something he has done for his own use I guess the mistake he made was put it out there to be shot down.
I would like to see the sheet but wouldn't trust it if he thinks stock is 101db.

My point before is Ford would not get Aus standards approval to sell a stock car at 101 db. So it simply is not correct. If they tried to import that it wouldn't be compliant and the exhaust would gave to modified like I don't know...... Sequential tail lights, bonnet vents, DRLs sigh........

yeah I guess VW's met all the correct EPA laws too lol.....
I'm pretty sure that VWs didn't breach Aus standards even with their not doctored results. Only European. I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Can you imagine the cost to Ford Au if suddenly customers got pulled up on EPA grounds for a stick exhaust breaching regs? It would be massive cost and reputation damage. 6000 recalls, 6000 new exhausts, reimbursement of fines, rental vehicles while recalls were fixed. I don't think they are that stupid, or maybe they are....

The Australian Government did a test early in Jan this year on the DB level for the mustang.

Well there you go 85db, that would be pretty much what you would expect.

I shed a tear, who would've thought other people might have an opinion on the matter

Full stop please:lol: bad punctuation does my head in. Capital "A" for Although as well pfffft.

Like I said regardless of what his db reading is it's a guide to show where the aftermarket options he sells compare to stock ?

Genuinely though, do you think an x-force exhaust is quieter than stock? That is ultimately what he is claiming. I though they had a reputation for being too loud?

Not being argumentative but I just cant see how that could possibly be right.

Other way around, 101db for stock & 99db for xforce, at 3000rpm.

I would typically agree....the Xforce is running centre muffler and rears like factory, he did say (on a phone call we had) it's slightly quieter but different and that the factory system has a loud tinnie/ rasp/ airflow sound as such which may be registering as noise on a meter but not essentially a nice deep note? that's what Barry had said to me...It does sound fairly quiet though (The Xforce)

The Xforce no doubt will be louder higher through the RPM range than the stock system, it may have 100db of quality note at 3000rpm's where the factory system recorded 100dp of pure noise at the same 3000rpm? just assuming not sure though....

The stock reading being high is more the airflow as ozdaz has said.

Had a chat with Rob Herrod at Herrod Motorsport over the phone yesterday regarding the Ford Racing cat-back sport system with quad pipes and GT350 valance. He quoted $4500 for the system.

My jaw dropped when I heard the price!!!
