Just got quoted $2900 for a magnaflow street catback to be installed by Toms Mufflers here in Darwin. He on sells them from the magnaflow dealer down in Adelaide, supercat converters. Seems pretty damn high. Can order one from CJ Pony for just under $2000AUD including shipping. Obviously import taxes on that so say $2200. Basically charging $700 for install! Would have thought $200 max for install of a system like this. Probably 15min of work for someone experienced.

Thanks mate will give that a go. Just called supercat in Brisbane and they quoted $2200 + whatever shipping costs.

Wow that guy was great! His price came to $1860 but he said he'd do it for $1800 plus shipping. Getting back to me with a shipping quote. Either way I'm sure it will be less than $400, so cheaper than importing. Will then either do the install myself or find another muffler place that charges a fair price.

Talk to your dealer and get your supplier to invoice the dealer for the part and get them to add it on to the base cost of the vehicle. to get it on your lease that is.

I don't know if you've watched the install videos, but catbacks are so simple to install yourself, should only take an hour or so

I have and they do look very simple to install. Main issue is I don't have ramps so would have to buy them, as guessing it is pretty hard otherwise, wouldn't be much room under there. And other major reason is that if I want it to be included in my lease it does have to be installed by the dealer or at least a professional paid for by the dealer.

Just spoke to my dealer and leasing agent though and it does look like I'll be able to add the exhaust to my order. Provided the dealer with the quote and details for supercat melborune along with 2 exhaust installers in Darwin who quoted ~$200 to install. If I can get it for $2100 installed and added on to my lease it will be fantastic.

I also asked about adding opti-coat to my car with the same process and the dealer and agent were happy with that too, there is 1 installer up here for that.

Like everyone else here, I've listened to every known combination at least twice. Maybe more. The cook is OVER it!
Still confused, mainly because video just doesn't seem to capture the sound in the first place, let alone the playback device.
I love the Magnaflow Street. Sounds nice, big 4.5 inch tips, not too loud, maybe.
However, I definitely prefer the H pipe sound over the X.
Headers are definitely on the list. Not sure which ones or even if they're worth it when you're contemplating a Whipple blower. The reality being the the SC will make plenty of power in its most basic form, particularly for a street car.
If anyone has the Magnflow Street fitted, could they please post some clips of what it sounds like in a variety of scenarios?
Ideally, under load, from outside eg. How the world (police) hear your car when you're playing nicely.

I don't think you can go wrong with a MF Street...its deep, not too loud, next to no drone (Competition can drone) and if you add Headers it's probably still nice and livable.

To Be honest thats the reason I went $800 SLP Loudmouth 2 Axle backs for now....I love the sound of them and If I go a blower (Hopefully) I may do whatever exhaust they recommend at the time....Too many times Ive spent too much money mucking around with exhausts as mods change and sound changes etc....Im putting on the SLP's the day she comes home and will enjoy them, save hard and do the big mods once and once only

i remember seeing a cad drawing of the RHD manifold somewhere on here. If that is indeed correct, then omg yes get headers, the stock is hideously deformed to put it politely

September mate :( SLP are owned buy Roush as far as I can tell the SLP Loudmouth 2's are effectively their Roush Touring.... I like the Roush axle backs but didn't want that much volume as they they are LOUD so these seemed logical.
