did delivery take long? had heard that once you order they then go and order from the US so delivery times are extended despite them being in Canberra?

also anyone have an idea why the 3" is actually cheaper than the 2.5" in the Borla S-Type?

Thanks
Doc, mine was delivered from the U.S, only took 7 days to get here. I did receive an email from best exhaust the other day quoting that they now had some of theses exhausts in stock. May pay to give them a call:thumbsup:

I never intended to add en exhaust to my GT, as I live in an apartment complex and come and go at all hours so was mindful of pissing off my neighbours.

If there was one out there that would just add a little more oomph than stock but not be offensively loud (especially on cold start up), I would now consider it.

I assume that axle back systems are a lot quieter than cat backs - anyone with an axle back system that meets the above criteria able to recommend a product?

Corsa Touring? Then if you wanted to you could buy the double x pipe later to get the cat back system?

Mate IMO whether it's a CB or AB the initial start up is louder than the stock exhaust although the stock exhaust will reverberate through walls and the stock exhaust isn't shy to growl on start up - talking V8s of course :D. If there is someone in the building who is jealous they will complain. There are arseholes everywhere on this planet.

Drewbo have you thought about suitcase delete and X or H pipe install?

I want to listen to this setup live first before I commit, but maybe someone in your area has done this?

From the videos i've seen, it could be what you're looking for.

Drewbo,

I'm also still looking (listening to) at a few exhausts.

I like the sound of Hybrid's ARH cat-back system but also the Roush axle-back sounds good too.

Main benefit of axle-back, to me, is that it is cheaper as a first step and then you can look at deleting the resonator and putting in an H-Pipe.

I think no matter which way we go it's still going to be loud.

This is what I fear, although reviews of the Corsa Touring suggested by Aus-MustangGT sound promising.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Yup I am going that path. Ordered Roush AB. Will drive with it first and see how it sounds. I have also ordered MRT H pipe arriving late this month.
Once you add MRT H pipe it actually becomes a Roush cat back anyway :)
Will try to get some video clips too.
One thing for sure cold start will be loud no matter what unless its stock or touring.

I have a Roush AB in my spare room.

Am waiting to hear one installed on a car, before I fit it.

I have had my car 10 days and only done 140 kms.

Need a few more k's under my belt, to properly assess the factory exhaust.

Any one who has fitted a Roush AB, do you have any drone?

I am picking up my car this Wednesday. I really don't care about stock exhaust. I will install it as soon as I get it. My order for the AB has been delayed a bit so it will arrive after the car.
From what I have heard there is no drone not even with Magnaflow AB as long as the resonator is there.
I haven't heard about any drone in case of Roush AB with a decent H pipe either.
Guess it's time to find out :)
Will let you guys know if there are any issues.

I can confirm that it does not have drone. I have listened to and driven one fitted with Roush AB. On start up it rumbles until the engine finally warms up and on idle it is louder than the stock exhaust but not that much however the 'warble' tone of the V8 is more profound. Whilst driving and going through the gears is very noticeable at 2-3K revs, and can get extreme, and can get raspy, from 3K and above.

What I like about it is you can sit at the lights next to the boys in blue and they will not raise an eyelid. I see it as an exhaust that can behave 'normal' when idling and when you push the accelerator pedal it will sincerely please you with its growl.

My RAB will be fitted in a few weeks.

That's great feedback Yeah Nah, I think that's the one I'll be getting now. :)

I think Roush axle-back is around AUD$800 or so from Mustang Motorsport plus postage, so not too bad.

Steeda also have an axle-back but bit difficult to describe the sound.
