Times were funner back then I bet. No one dictated what the hell you did or said.
Not even close... World war 2, Korea, Vietnam...being drafted against your will was not fun for sure. Ever driven a 70's car? Sucked for sure, super low HP and manufacturers proudly stated when a car achieved 20 mpg on the highway. Smog was really, really horrible in our cities. You were very much accountable for what you said and did.

Ahh one advantage we have up here in Ontario, Canada finally... They did away with our emissions testing a few years ago. Come for the good beer and stay for a while lol.

You won't like our gas prices though.
They will be used to high gas prices very soon.
Now that Bribem is in power US gas prices are going to soar thru the roof.

Lol, no way. Growing up in the 70s and 80s you could expect to get seriously beat down for running your mouth or doing something stupid, whether from cops or parents or strangers if you were dumb enough to screw with them. There were major consequences, and that was that, hopefully afterwards you knew better.

Nowadays you can do it from a distance on the interwebs, and people are too used to a lack of consequence, and all of this ridiculousness flourishes. It won't end well, this unchecked nonsense.

Btw, my LTs were catted from day one. It's no big deal to me.

are market driven, not politics driven
except politics affects the broader economy and regulations change input costs. I desperately wish everything in Washington stayed in DC but alas policies have both intended and unintended side-effects.

no one is arguing LA hasn't been smog-city even before the industrial revolution. Since the sheer quantity of cars is the root of all evil in the Valley no matter how clean they are, the answer is quite simple, forcibly reduce the number of cars allowed to be owned. Better yet just force the number of people allowed to live there to what it was in the 60's.

That way the rest of the country doesn't have to suffer your unique weather problems or your irrational emissions rules.

If the tree hugger nut jobs in Washington get their way, they will shut down the entire aftermarket performance industry and we all will driving prius's. Then our only choice is what color we want.
Then they'll take that option as well...circa cold War east Germany....you take what we allow you to buy

Yes, however politics can drive market forces. Its not a coincidence that gas prices are up almost .80c a gallon since Biden got elected due to his weakness on energy. Track the market prices of a barrel of oil from Nov. 3 until today.
Didn't help that Texas basically shut down including refineries and the entire Permian Basin which is our biggest domestic oil source

What I donā€™t understand is why people donā€™t do any research and practice due diligence before commenting on a subject, itā€™s simply intellectual laziness......
https://cleanvehiclerebate.org/eng/ev/benefits/environmental-impacts
Motor vehicles are responsible for 50% of smog and 36% of greenhouse gasses
And you call that a tiny percentage??????
What I donā€™t understand is why people donā€™t do any research and practice due diligence before commenting on a subject, itā€™s simply intellectual laziness...... Your figure of 36% is massively inflated. Water is by FAR the most common and influential greenhouse gas. Of course some folks are easily duped by statisticians with an agenda.

Prices started rising because demand finally was increasing. If you recall, oil producers were forced to pay to store their oil because of COVID shutting down most travel spring and summer of 2020. Plus, the Saudi's and Russia were selling their oil at cut rate prices in an attempt to cripple the US shale oil production which is relatively expensive compared to a conventional well. Prices now are similar to where they were for almost the entirety of 2019, long before Biden took office.

Ok, back up your argument that this figure is inflated and that the statisticians has an agenda..

Your comment imply that water vapor is harmless.....
