I can tell you from personally speaking to him, since both of us are selling ours actually, that it is 100% purely a sound thing. We both want louder systems and ordered Roush axlebacks with an H; the loudest you can buy right now. ARH would be a 5-6 and Roush a 10 on a loudness scale with stock being a 1.

Otherwise be both love the tone of the system and it's perfect otherwise. If we were doing headers we would 100% keep our systems (since headers make it a lot louder); but neither of us want to have warranty issues that come with headers and the tune needed.
someone say loud....

wait for the launch....

Personally I like the ARH setup. We're running the full ARH setup on our car and love it!

I say play both launches at the same time and see which one you can hear.

if were going for loud :)

at the end of the day, you may end up switching exhausts 2 or 3 times, we see it all the time, people in search of that "perfect sound"

Yeh but both you guys have headers which makes a huge volume difference. Like I said above, if I was doing headers I would 100% keep the ARH system. It would be perfect volume to match the perfect tone it has.

But due to an extended warranty I paid a pretty penny to extend from 3/36 to 5/60 I'd rather not risk voiding it with headers and moreso the tune needed for the CEL. I have no intention of dropping money for headers and the costly install in the next few years (at least 4.5 if I keep the car that long).

Roush axelbacks with H being the loudest catback out there right now will get the same/very similar volume level as a full system with headers (and not the cost/warranty risks associated with doing headers)

The lmf is pretty loud. And we can do a resonator delete As well. It was insane. Too much for even me

I LOVE the ARH Cat Back I put on... I documented the install and opinion. I agree, NO Drone...

Thanks to all the comments guys.

2 Days of driving and here is my assessment of the system:

1. INMO, Love the Black...LOL
2. Quality of system: EXCEPTIONAL
3. Jay at Hypermotive: EXCEPTIONAL
4. Tips not welded: PITA...I ended up cutting about 1/2" of the extra threads so you now don't see the hideous clamp (which I thermally coated and will chip eventually), but I will touch up from time to time. Honestly to me the worst part of the system, but compared to the system as a whole being AWESOME it's definitely not bad.
5. Sound:
Loudness: Tame but loud enough at WOT...great for a DD, but if you are looking for over the top, this is NOT the system

Tone: IMHO, AWESOME...DEEP and Throaty, no raspiness at all...total old school muscle. Definitely need to like this type of sound

Drone: I consider myself a Drone expert for many reasons, and I am SUPER sensitive to harmonics in general, so to 95% this will NOT apply and I would say the system is 100% drone free. However there is a VERY slight drone in a certain bandwidth:
It ONLY OCCURS UNDER THESE CONDITIONS SO FAR:

* 6th gear
* ~68 Deg. OAT
* 75 mph STARTS but very slightly
* ~2,250 RPM
* 85 mph STOPS
* ~2,500

At 75 Deg. OAT NO DRONE at all...and based on other experiments I would say the start and stop will slightly go down in MPH and RPM as temps get cold then will disappear PROBABLY below 59 Deg. OAT.

System as a whole I would say is a 9.8 out of 10...dam near perfect...and I would recommend to anyone wanting a MUCH louder than stock, but not wake the cops and neighbors up!

Here is the thread...LOTS of photos, only one startup video, hopeful to get some drive by videos now that I am not traveling this week.

I agree with your comments on drone. They're really isn't any unless your in 6th gear around 70mph. I also think your probably right about it being effected by temperature as well since its not always there. Even when it is, it's hardly noticeable. On a 0 to 10 scale, I'd give it a 1 or a 2.

It has also gotten a little louder with age. It honestly is a great exhaust for a dd and road trips. I once thought I wanted something a little louder, but I think I'm ok with waiting to do headers. Especially after my little road trip, I don't think I want anything louder.

Ive had the arh cat back for a while now and I am very pleased with it. At first I thought I had made a bad choice due to its quietness, compared to the other systems I was considering. But after a few days of driving it it started getting better and better and its loud enough to make me happy. Plus the overall tone is just awesome. I enjoy driving my car every time because of the deep rumble, cause most of the time I drive im under 4k revs. Truly a great system.
