So many other options. Why pay for music. Unless you got to have a certain talk radio channel.

Sirius sound quality blows. I use a 128 GB flash drive, stingray music and Pandora.

I kinda like the music Sirius offers.

I do use Spotify via Apple Car Play, but it's notorious for being finicky. Sometimes the phone won't connect, sometimes ios updates need to be done, sometimes cell service is spotty, etc. etc.

With Sirius - it just works. Sort of like FM radio. You don't have to worry every time you get in your car if FM or Sirius will work. With an iphone and apple car play; it's always a crap-shoot.

Same thing with android auto, and playing music from your phone thru sync is a pain in the ass.

I voted it costs too much only because living in Western Ma. My Bullitt is only on the road for about 6+ month. I can't imagine listening to Sirius in my garage during the Winter once every 3 weeks. Plus in my are there are many great roads through the hills where Sirius is lost. USB with a play list works for me.

I would pay to remove it from my Mustang. I hate that my vehicles will go to that dead zone when Sync 3 burps. If you don't use it, why can't you remove it.

Thank you all who responded. 74% said they would renew.
I'm at the end of my free (premium) trial. SO the hard sell is on.
$5 a month for 12 months then 3 or 4 times that with your card on file :frown:
From you all I found and have enjoyed spotify also ~

So I just replied to Sirius with this (we will see)
I read the renewal is high and then it's hard to cancel. I'm not wanting to get into a contract I hate in 12 months.
I'll sign if you give me 2 yrs at $5 month. Thanks for your time

Tell them you want to be billed and not to use the card on file. Then you can let it lapse and get a better deal to renew, you just have to suffer for a few days with out it. Every time I renew that is what I do and it they give me the best deal they have at the time.

Regarding Spotify, here’s my findings:

With my iPhone XR, I stream Spotify to the SYNC 3 using the “Bluetooth” method (not Apple Car Play).

What is weird to me is this - say I shut down Spotify on the phone (close app), exit car and then at end of work day, enter car, start car -

As soon as I start the car, Spotify auto plays right where it left off - BEFORE and without me even activating the app on the phone. The app is totally shut down. The SYNC 3 just automatically starts playing as if I activated it on the phone. So Bluetooth is still able to resume streaming as if it were totally uninterrupted 8+ hours before...

Has anyone else had this happen with Spotify?

It never glitches via the Bluetooth method, never cuts out, and it’s really crystal clear as far as clarity of the sound.

I tried to do use Spotify via Apple Car play and when I did, I was having similar issues where sometimes it would connect and sometimes it would not.

So just to be 100% clear - I’m not activating Spotify by any touch of the app on the SYNC 3 monitor.

—-
If you have anything on a mobile device you want to steam - you can just do it by having Bluetooth activated on the device - then on the SYNC 3 menu, you choose the “Bluetooth” icon and bingo - your preferred music will stream without any SYNC Ford “apps” or Apple CarPlay...

Yes - Sync in my 2016 Ford Transit van is doing the same thing. In the mustang I prefer to plug in for the car play screen.
I listen to oldies. 60 s and 70s with some 50s thrown in. I think Spotify has a better selection.

Not interested because of the business model. I am not willing to invest time and effort to get a good deal every subscription period OR pay a lot more if I don't do that. So, mostly a principle of the thing.

So I just got this letter from Sirius telling me that for only a $2 service fee I could get 3 (more) months of otherwise free service.

The catch? A credit card is required to take advantage of the offer. Hey Sirius - there's a reason I didn't give that to you in the beginning, and I'm not about to sell myself out for $63. Business model indeed.

When I want a service like Sirius and need to provide a credit card, I use a credit card that expires before the renewal time. I have several cards with different expiration dates and can usually find one that works for these types of deals.
