Dance with the one you are with.

Besides, only reason to get a Hellcat over a Mustang is the back seat and more retro styling. If you are looking for performance and can deal with aftermarket, the ceiling on a mustang is higher than the hellcat.

Look at it this way. You could dump 10k into your paid for 2015 mustang with a supercharger, turbos, etc and still be cheaper (and probably faster) then financing the Hellcat alone.

Be happy that your car is paid for and you can focus on modding to your hearts content. You made the right decision.

My friend had a modded SRT8. It sounded great but no matter what it felt like a pig and the interior wasn't anywhere near the quality of what you'd find in the new stang.

The Mustang with 435hp for under $35k is hard to beat. We all agree the Hellcat is an awesome car, even for the $65k price, but at almost double the price it's hard to justify unless you have money to burn. I prefer paying cash for my cars and would have bought the Hellcat if I had that much extra laying around. You're smart living within your means.

I don't know if I would agree that the Hellcat is awesome. I haven't driven one obviously, but the thing is a pig. Isn't it 1000 lbs heavier than a GT?

500 or so. Its overpowered for the chassis thats for sure. The SRT8 at 485 is a torque monster and fun to drive.

No.

Mustang GT Auto 401A-3820lbs(ish). Hellcat-4,450 = 630lbs

On average, the "hot" challengers, the 392 R/T, SRT and Hellcat are between 400 and 630 lbs heavier.

An auto 392 R/T (the Scat Pack) is right about 4200 lbs where a GT Premium is about 3800, so roughly 400 lbs difference.

It's not just the weight that's off putting with the Challenger; the sheer overall mass of the thing is ridiculous. It's a tank on wheels.

Yeah, I test drove a 2012 Challenger and it felt like I was driving a house. I hated it, but I love the way the Challenger looks.

You should watch this video if you have concerns about the handling of the Hellcat: . It may be less nimble than the GT, but it's definitely not a bad handling car, despite the power.
