Has anyone even able to buy a APIM module and install it and their sync 3 head unit work fine after. My dealership is trying to charge me 1300 dollars for the APIL replacement. But I found a company online who will program the APIM to your vin and I was wondering if anyone had anything to chime in on.

thanks

Oddly I just had to replace the APIM in my '12 Edge with Sync 2 with Nav. Every where I looked they were $600 or more, often requiring I send my old one back.
Then I stumbled on "All Things Sync", a company out of Chicago. They sold me a Sync 2 APIM with Nav for $300 programed to my VIN. No tax, shipping included and no core required. Ordered it on Thursday and received it on Saturday. Oh, and they sell on ebay (for more than on the website) with 100% positive feedback. I also did a search for complaints and found nothing on them, good or bad.
It appears that they have the Sync 3 for $300 w/o nav and $400 with.
I have only just installed mine yesterday so I can't speak to long term but it's working great right now. It was literally plug-n-play. At this point I do recommend them. They replied to a chat question within a couple of hours.
