So I live in a apartment, so my car sits outside all the time, making it extremely hard to keep clean and not very convenient.

I discovered the Croftgate products last May at Shelbyfest, and although I was very skeptical I bought their buck bundle. Use one cap full (about an oz) of their wash & wax in a gallon of water. then use a microfiber cloth dipped in the solution to wipe your car down, and a dry towel to wipe off - LEAVES NO STREAKS, even out in the open in the sun! Then went over it with their Project-X, which is a spray polish and color enhancer for dark colored cars (hence the depth of the reflectivity in my picture), and finally their spray wax Quick-N-Slick. All products go on easily with microfiber cloths even in direct sunlight. and environmentally friendly if you care about that sort of stuff.

I agree, I regret spending $150+ bucks on one. I feel as I'm putting on and taking off the cover, I'm scratching the car

Used one for my Acura Legend Coupe years ago, it's true. It will scratch your paint up a little each day.

One solution for you might be the touchless car covers but they are $$$ and might get stolen or damaged. Check them out here or maybe the HAIL PROTECTOR $$$$ is better.

Simple, really. Work hard, pass the ARE, get hired at HOK, work your way up the corporate ladder, quit architecture, get a job in sales, earn a lot of money, then buy a house with a garage. That's my plan anyway...

That's not very practical, it'll cause more damage than it'll prevent.
Yeah, I have a car cover and hate using it - because I figure its doing that minor scratching each time I take it on/off. For that reason the only time I use it is when I spend the evening detailing my car when I'm getting up early the next day to go to a car show, and there's the potential for rain that night - just because I have no other option.

We obviously had the same quote in mind when we bought our Mustangs:

"Give me the luxuries of life and I will willingly do without the necessities."
