Anyone planning large-scale appearance mods or projects?

Evening, my beloved Mustang brethren!

I know it's really early to be thinking about this because almost none of us have even sat in the car yet, but is anyone planning any projects or commissions for dramatic customization of their S550's body and appearance? I'm sure tint/bra/stripes is about as far as most folks want to change this beautiful animal, but we've always been an ambitious community, and I was wondering if any of y'all 6Gers had any plans to make your new baby a true one-of-a-kind.

I want to make my '15 GT into a modern take on Eleanor. I think the magnetic paint would be just about perfect, and the black stripe is easy of course, but my only sticking point is the iconic hood. There are plenty of places to order Eleanor hoods for the previous generations, but I'd love to be one of the first enthusiasts to do this for the S550, so I think my big sticking point is finding a shop in Colorado or the surrounding states that can fabricate one without it costing a fortune. The fog lights and louvers shouldn't be too bad, provided the fogs can be mounted on the front grille somehow. Does anyone have experience with this kind of thing? My all-in budget for the project is 5-10k.

If anyone else has anything neat on the drawing board, or even just on their wish-list, I'd love to hear about it!

Darren, I would love to see how your planned project turns out for an S550-based Eleanor. Please start a thread when you take delivery and begin work on it. I think the fastback roofline, large grille, those massive hips and the '68 inspired front lends itself well to what you have in mind.

For starters, one of the talented artists on here rendered up this. It needs more visible racing stripes along the top, its lacking the hood cowl and should really be in Magnetic color, but it is a respectable start.

I don't plan to add another pony into the mix for at least another year or two, but I agree with your assessment that the S550 really does not need much out of the box. If and when I do, I will be taking inspiration from projects such as yours to see what cosmetic changes work best for the new bodywork.

I absolutely will! This has been a really fantastic community so far, so nothing would make me happier than sharing the process with everyone as it happens. I can't believe I missed that fantastic render, do you know the gentleman's username that made it? Maybe I could bug them to do a similar one in magnetic with the cowl if he or she ever has a moment

Tried to quote both of you guys in the same post but it didn't want to work for whatever reason...shows how rusty I've gotten at forum usage! I was actually just thinking more magnetic chops would be amazing today, I totally agree. I think magnetic might be the big sleeper color of the S550!

I'll be doing nothing serious, but I do want to touch on just about everything. Full exhaust, intake, tune, oil separator, lowered/firmer suspension, sway bars if necessary, lighter wheels, wider tires, and a short-throw que-ball shifter.

Shame Ford is exiting NHRA; this would make a damn fine looking funny car.

It would not be a large scale project but I am sure we'll see some Bullitt Mustangs recreations soon after people get their hands on the car. Heck the Guard spy shots already fooled some Mustang enthusiasts.

Remove the badges, add a tint, Bullitt wheels and it would look damned good in DHG.

Thanks for the help KZ! Chris, if you wouldn't mind too terribly much, I would truly love your help. Looking for the best pics of magnetic right now, if I can't find anything today and you haven't seen any I can try to pull one out of a dealer brochure or something when I get into the office tomorrow.
