3x asus pg278q.

my rift cv1 should finally be here in june...debating on cancelling it though. I had a dk2 then sold it for more than i paid for it on ebay...so very familiar with it. it was badass with elite dangerous and pretty neat in racing sims.

Rarely get time to game anymore but my main system could manage alright.
i7-6700K
Asrock Z170 Extreme 7 mainboard
16GB RAM
512GB Samsung 950 Pro
2x ATI 290X 4GB for eyefinity and crossfire
6x 23" LG 1080 LCD's (3240x2160)
Intel X520 10GB NIC

Right now I am mainly focused on upgrading the old 5600 Xeons in my racks to E3 and E5 systems with 2-12 cores each, combined over 250GB RAM, 160TB HDD and 13TB flash. Somehow I still don't think it will be enough.

*If you game at 1080P.

For those of us that game above that, upgrades are essential. VRAM usage is HUGE above 1080P.
1920x1200 here. Thats another consideration if i wanted to go to the 1000 series that i would need higher rez monitors x1440 or higher to take advantage of it. But that means id have to buy two monitors.

you can still use your current monitor along side a new monitor. why would you need 2 new ones?

but yeah 980s, ti, titans, 1070, 1080 are really meant for 1440p and 4k. although you still need two 1080s for most games to get 60fps at 4k. 4k gaming is still a giant waste imo. just takes to much to run but it's goregous on a 65" 4k curved that's for sure. I'll be sticking with 3x 1440p for a good long while still.

True statement. I guess I am blind though and I play on a 15in laptop. I honestly can't tell the difference between my 50in 4k and my 50in 1080p TVs unless I am like a foot away from it. Resolution has diminishing returns the higher you go as the eye can only see so much. I am also far-sighted with severely bad vision so it likely has less of an effect for me. At stores they display different types of media on the TVs sometimes to make the difference look more extreme than it is.

Now when you span multiple monitors that is another story, but I never liked having to turn my head to play games, especially for any type of competitive style gaming. For work multiple monitors is a must but that is not hardware demanding by today's standards at all.

You could always use super sampling, although that would be extremely taxing.

Gaming is a different story though, at least for me. I can tell a big difference between 1440P and 4K and those resolutions with or without AA.

i mean it's ok. questing and story is good though but to me that's about it.
Yeah, have heard mixed reviews. It seems to be a very love or hate type thing. LOL Very few people have told me it's okay.

I've pretty much avoided all overwatch coverage. I'll probably sit this one out until the hype dies down.

The last time I fell for the hype on a multiplayer shooer was Titanfall, and I didn't really enjoy that game at all.

Besides I'm still busy playing the new Hitman game for now.

Edit: This is an old pic from about a year ago when I first watercooled my pc:

It's a custom water cooling loop with a Core i7 4790k and two GTX 980 in SLI.
