I'll start, pretty excited to have picked up an IWC Pilot's Chrono this weekend. Been eyeing it for years since refreshed model came out in 2016. My wife told me to just do it since I had a good year at work.

That’s a beautiful watch, congrats! I see myself getting into watches when I don’t have so many kids to pay for… in the mean time I love my Apple Watch. I think it’s a 3…?

Side note; I can’t stop looking at the hand model and noticing the stark contrast between arm hair and hand hair… I feel like the guy shaves his hand but not his arm… maybe I'm over thinking this one…

I like the Sub. I've tried on a few and a few GMTs but think the Sea Dweller fits my wrist better. One day Ill drop the $$$ on one.

Bought a lightly used Rolex GMT (coke) a few years back. I have been offered triple what i paid but i couldn t sell it. Very hard to get one now. And almost impossible to get a deal on one. The watch market is as bad as the car market. I think they are a good inflation hedge. Wish i has $100K worth instead of money in the bank/market.
Also have a TAG and sold my Airking.

I wouldn’t say the watch market is ‘bad.’ Rolex is a unique company — they don’t have share holders, and only make just under one million watches per year.

I would hold on to it as long as you enjoy it, and take care if it.

-Have it pressure tested once every couple years.

-If you have to have it serviced, make it clear that you don’t want it polished.

-Don’t have the dial or hands replaced — original dials, hands and lume, no matter how old they look, that’s what the collectors want in a vintage watch.

The coke GMT is definitely cool. I really like the size of the pre-ceramic GMT’s more than the modern ones. A lot of people buy an additional pepsi bezel for those too.

My favorite… I find my 10 year old TAG Heuer Formula 1 does it for me.
Also like my Lumi Nox Seal, Marathon US Government. And my old Seikos.

Just got this 20 year old watch back from Rolex Service. Looks good for $952. service, LOL.

Spend a few bucks on different straps and that thing is a strap monster. You can dress it up or down, nato, vintage, aligator ect. Cant go wrong with a Seiko! It’s the weirdos that have a computer on their wrist.
