It's Memorial Day weekend so people will not be available for a meet up. I for one am going to be at a friends for a BBQ we have every year and wouldn't be available either.

@ad23tzj we appreciate your efforts and I don't believe that we won't meet up again. I just think the timing has been bad. Don't give up on us, because I'm sure we all would like to meet up again.....here soon!!

Another Austinite here! Would totally be down for a meetup.

Also, can anyone here recommend me a good shop to get a bolt-on catback exhaust installed? I don't have a garage I can do it myself in very easily. Was hoping to find someone reliable who wouldn't rip me off.

Hi RocketGuy3,

I can offer up two options:

I had my springs installed at Soulspeed Performance and they were very professional and knowledgeable. They maybe aren't the cheapest, but they are fair. They charged me $300 to install my springs. When I went in there, they had just finished up installing headers on a GT500, so I know they can do a catback install.

Another option, which I haven't tried, but probably will someday, is Loyal Austin DIY Shop. A catback install is very simple (so I've heard) and these guys have very reasonable pricing.

If you try one of these options, please let us know how it goes....

Thanks for the quick reply, man. Appreciate it. Place seems to have pretty good reviews to go with your endorsement, so I think I'll check it out. The DIY shop is a pretty awesome idea that I'll have to keep in mind, too.

... But while I have you here, one more question -- Do you think you could recommend a good paint shop or some place that could black out my chrome emblems? Powder coating would be fine. I know it's easy enough to do it myself with plasti-dip, but I'd rather get the polished look than the matte look.

Sorry, I can't really help you with this one. I have had good experiences with Ellis and Salazar for collision repair and paint, but I don't know if they would be the best choice for what you want to do.
