I took the visors of my 05 off and was able to remove them by using an iron and very gently peeling them off.

I find them terribly distracting.

My solution is to cover them. I buy a similar shade of felt patches from Wal Mart (crafts section where the quilters & crafters go) and apply a piece cut to size over the sticker. It is not perfect but it preserves the sticker for the next buyer (if he wants it) and it makes the distraction disappear to me or the driver of my car. I do this with every new car; it is a satisfactory solution but I agree the federal government is too intrusive and does not belong on my sun visors.

It's been fun thinking about this, Red Green's Duck Tape, or maybe tartan plaid, school colors? Maybe a sports team theme, maybe a uplifting saying like "Smile God Loves You". Of all the ideas already post a all the ideas I have anything would better than "You have airbags". Maybe I need "You are an airbag" .

Thank you,

I have had success with an iron on medium high heat (just below cotton setting) and a very damp towel. Wrap the towel over the iron and hold on the sticker for a minute or two. As Ryan1112 said, "gently peel them off". You may need to peel a little and apply more steam.

There is a little residue but it is a lot less distracting than that sticker.

Somehow I get a feeling even that small bit of residue left over would bother my OCD. I am looking into a place that has adhesive backed "stickers" that are made of headliner material and just not a plastic sticker. I just have a feeling that those stickers are going to fade after a year or two and you have to end up buying another to cover the faded ones up. If someone does get them put on, please post up some pics. :)

Thought I'd chime in. I picked up some black, self-adhesive vinyl from Hobby Lobby. The two sheets come rolled up in a clear tube. I think each sheet is 12 inches by 36 inches, so you get way more of this than you need. Cost was about $8.00.

Anyway, I cut two pieces about 5.5 inches by 4 3/8ths if I remember right, and applied them over the air bag stickers. It was dark so I couldn't tell how good the match was, but I checked this morning and it looks pretty darn good. Yes, you tell that the vinyl is there but you don't see the hideous white and yellow air bag stickers, and the color matches pretty well.

Plus, if you don't like it, just peel it off. Not sure what the durability will be like. Time will tell.

Honestly, I like the vinyl idea but I think it would be better to have some sort of subtle logo or something on it to break it up and make it look like it has a purpose. Like a small silver border and the 50Y emblem in the middle or something.

Google Hobby Lobby and using their search function, search "self-adhesive vinyl."

Here's the product number - sku # 696252.

Would any of the 3M adhesive cleaners be safe to use to remove the stickers?

I read somewhere that Goo Gone works for the residual residue (if any).

Anyone had success removing the Airbag decal on the 2015? This buy used a hair dryer to remove the decal, but suggests that a heat gun would also be helpful. [ame=""]guy[/ame]
Would you suggest removing the visor or remove the sticker in place. If you removing the visor, any tips or tricks?

I just removed the stickers with the visors in place in less than 10 minutes. I did it as ColorCodeUA suggests above, with an iron on low to medium heat. Didn't even need a damp towel... Just heated up the sticker for about 10 seconds, used a knife to get under a corner, and then gently peeled it off while moving the iron along the sticker. Virtually all the adhesive came off with the sticker. Excellent! Looks much better than having a cover sticker of some sort, and WAY better than having the annoying stickers there.
