These are american mass produced cars, little gaps here and there are common. This is a Ford not a Benz.
Well when spending 40k plus they should be near perfect.

So the Germans can get an ordinary VW panels right, why cant Ford?

VW is the Ford equivalent of Germany...

Don't say the truth, people will hate you.

This should not be a problem. Problem is with assembly and obviously the UAW people putting it together - because you know, I need to have 15 breaks in one day plus union time :sarcasm off:

To add some useful insight to this thread after my Cavalier comment :D... I have found 2 areas of misalignment on my car... one on the driver's side fender where it comes to a point above the headlight... sits a little high compared to the hood (I've tried adjusting the bump stop of the hood and it's definitely the fender out of alignment), and another is the rear panel between the tail lights. The gap between panel and light is wider on drivers side compared to passenger but because it's all black around there, I didn't notice it until like a month after purchase.

I for one will not be taking it back to the dealer to have fixed. I just don't trust them to fix it properly and not cause something else to go out of alignment, or even damage something else. It's something that 99% of people would never notice and I forget they're there most of the time myself.
Yeah, I have the same exact issue at the front. Adjusted the stop, which fixed the issue with the fender. But the midline of the hood rides over the fender line. Dont see another fix.

My drivers side door has this problem. The passenger side is perfect so it makes it more of a problem to me.
I got the hood lined up, the steel to plastic fender seams aligned myself as I don't trust the dealer.
I might go back for the door through.
My 2014 Mazda 3 had perfect body gaps and it was a completely new design for Mazda. 27 k car vs almost 40 k car. Sorry Ford, but have some pride in your work. If I can get my hood right and fenders right what's your problem.
Wish me luck on the door if I go that route.

I got this

If the gap is consistent its easy to move tha door striker.
If you don't want to deal with it the fix would be easy at the dealership.
Mine is sticking out at the bottom and is in past the fender at the top.:tsk:

I have issues like this on my 15 ecoboost mustang. Been back to the dealer for "repair" and it still isnt right. They told me it will never be perfect and i guess i just have to live with it.
