Just curious if anyone has drove the new GT500.

I'm cross shopping the 350 and 500. Dealer im working with can get me in a 20' 350 for 3k under invoice or willing to give me allocation for a 21' gt500 at msrp.

Car will be a daily as long as weather allows. On those days I have my truck.

I have not driven either car and most likely won't get to. I know this is the 350 side of the forum, so I expect bias. But would appreciate any input, thought, opinions, etc from anyone with experience in both cars.

Thx guys!

I have driven both, back to back. Completely different cars. For a daily depending on your traffic situation, I would lean to the 500 with the DCT/automatic. If you're looking to have fun stop light to stop light, the 350 is not the car for that.

@50 Deep owns both, and am sure can share more than I can

Thanks, for the input. No doubt the stop light to stop light fun would be better in 500. But being in WV I have plenty of mountainous back roads to drive on and explore as well. However, 90% of my commute for work is interstate. So I guess that's something to consider too. I'm sure the 500 is the better cruiser of the 2 as well.

My commute (when I had one pre COVID), was all highway as well, and car was fine for that. LA traffic did get annoying with a stick but not bad. The 500 is a blast on back roads as well

Do you mean $3,000 below invoice or $3,000 below window sticker/MSRP?

Given my experience with the GT350 , they do not build the case IMO for the GT500 price point..

I'd just do a Porsche at the price they want for a GT500 CFTP

Given the fact that you live in WV, with its abundance of twisty roads, I think you would be happier with a GT 350. The GT 500 drinks huge quantities of fuel if that is a consideration.

Personally, I think it is foolish to put ever greater amounts of horsepower in increasingly heavier vehicles. The potential for misapplication of the throttle at the wrong time is just too great. I would gladly trade a 100 hp in my GT 350 for 600 lbs less weight.

I was just looking at a CFTP Twister O/vinyl black stipe GT500 yesterday. To my complete surprise the SM offered to let me test drive it. I paused there for a second to let that register. I politely declined since I was not going to pay anywhere near a $25k ADM and they were not moving on that. It was a beautiful car tho. They also had a Twister O 350R that was incredible looking. $25k ADM on that as well.

Car sales are down 30% this year, but you know I'm holding out on my ADM!

And yes... if I was getting into the CFTP price Porsche would def be on my list. But I'm just looking at a base 500. Msrp 78k.
I love Porsche though! Always wanted to own one but nearest dealer is over 2.5hrs away which would be a HUGE inconvenience for service.
