not like this ?

62Telecaster, make a sketch ;)
Lol yeah it's a tough one to explain, but this is a very rough idea. I did the outlines as much as possible. See how on side starts on the center of the car then goes right? It matches the raised part of the hood.

Rough idea, I know it's terrible, but hey ya do what ya can!

I don't think the picture is working so here's the link: http://postimg.org/image/yhpt62m2t/

Here's what I'm referring to...the lines on this car curve sharply, straight stripes kind of clash with it. It needs something different and more suited for it's design elements, such as the curving power dome, double bubble roof, and those two deep side scoop lines:

This render has the right idea by using a smaller outer stripe to.hug the curved lines and fill in any gaps left by the inner straight stripe:

Steeda noticed the same thing for their render:

As for the side...I want to see somebody work with those deep lines. They have a strong 3 dimensional quality and aren't straight like on an S197...none of this car's lines are straight and they all cut or curve deeply and dramatically with more of a "ledge" or "blade " effect. Here's my point...See how the stripes leave the side lines empty and open to clash? For the Boss stripe to work, it needs to be modified so that it aggressively stretches at the front to fit the arch line by the wheel, and then it somehow needs to flow over/inside of the side scoops so that they're covered. I don't think it'll work in real life, to be honest...too many deep grooves and the top/bottom scoops don't really let the stripes run evenly along the top/bottom like the S197. The S550 is far more curved and three dimensional, where the S197 has plenty of flat surfaces for those stripes to sit on evenly:

I love these both, want to do something similar to my Magnetic coupe. Maybe black out the side mirrors too?

The first pic of the Red with the off center thick then thin stripe would be perfect in blue... just sayin' ;)
And yellow with a black stripe instead of white. :)
