2015 GT M6 355 gears stock tires

I was at the track tonight and had a very strange thing happen ...If I left at anything up to and over ( 3000 to 3500 ) the car would come out of the hole hard for about 30 feet then the car would fall on it's face and rev really really slow all the though first gear right to red line .It felt like someone just flipped switch and turned off the power in first gear ...As soon as I hit second gear the car would haul ass ..It felt like the T/C was on but it was OFF ..It was like you had the brakes on in first gear . It would bog down almost to idle and then rev up so so slow it felt like you were pulling a 10,000 pound trailer behind you ..As soon as I shifted to second gear it would wheel hop and grab and haul ass . The only way I could stop the power loss was to leave at idle and then floor it and then it would haul butt in first gear.. When it would lose power in first gear it would run high 14.90s @ 108... Leaving at idle it ran a 12.78 @ 112.30 ...Any RPM higher on the launch it was back to high 14s .. It felt like someone stuffed a rag in the throttle body after the first 30 feet ..

Has anyone else had this problem ? I going to add drag radials shorty and leave at a much higher RPM to get the 60 footer lower ..But I'm worried it will bog like it did with the street tires. There was a bunch of new 2015 GT M6 there and if the left hard they would just blow the tires off , they watched my car leave hard for a few feet and they say it sounded like I just let off the throttle .. I can assure you I had it to the mat every time .

Clutch protection strategy kicking in, although everyone on here will say its your traction control.

Hummm ... I was smelling burnt clutch when this happened ...What is clutch protection strategy ? How does it work and can I get rid of it ? when ever this happened I could feel the clutch peddle drop a few inches after I fully released it ..

Thanks Lee..

I don't think it's the tune , I had it happen twice last week before I put the Bama tune in ...

Its in the tune, it can be disabled. It limits power when it detects any excessive clutch slipping, thats why when you dont slip the clutch much it will give all the power.

Clutch slippage protection. I like it. It protects your clutch. Why would you want to turn it off and destroy your clutch?

So you can launch your car without it killing power. If you know how to drive you wont have any clutch problems from disabling it.

Are you saying the car can depress the clutch pedal by itself? I don't think that's possible, even if it were it would cause more slippage....

Not saying that happened , but that is what my foot felt right when the motor nosed over ..I could feel the peddle move down about 2 inches or so when the power cut out ..

No, clutch protection pulls engine power, limiting the torque output.

As others have said it is either the clutch protection or traction control. When you turn off the traction control are you holding it off for 7 seconds?
