Hi all,

I have been reading through the threads with interest.

I placed an order and paid a deposit in November 2014 (When i placed the order the dealer told me the cars would start coming to the UK around april/may 2015..)

I hit all the deadlines in January 2015 and May 2015 to pick and confirm spec.

Was then told the car should be available September 2015. A few delays later and the car was eventually built 19th September 2015.

This is where progress has stopped and i am growing in frustation. I havent encountered such poor service from a car manufacturer before. When i purchased a brand new focus in 2014 i had a better service, and hoped being a return customer it would have helped me with the service i received.

I sold my 997tt last year to make way for the mustang and have been without a toy for too long and getting itchy feet... seriously considering cancelling, but i have waited 14 months already...

My spec for info:
Magnetic with saddle leather, all the extras except custom pack.

I hope everyone else's order fares better than my order.

I feel better already just venting my frustration.

Feels good to get it out doesn't it!

My 2 year anniversary comes up this month. People not aware of the whole scene are gobsmacked that I haven't got a car yet. Especially since I stupidly told a load of them 2 years ago

You're not too far from me (Colchester). We can meet up and commiserate when the cars get here at last!

To put some perspective on this:

>>>>I placed an order and paid a deposit in November 2014 (When i placed the order the dealer told me the cars would start coming to the UK around april/may 2015..)

No you didn't - the dealer took your money on a "vague promise" as Ford didn't open their order books until after the official price list was published in Jan 2015. That price list actually stated that the first deliveries "are not scheduled until Q4 2015" - which they just made. The UCL winners didn't really get any priority. And "ordering" in Nov 2014 didn't either....

>>>I hit all the deadlines in January 2015 and May 2015 to pick and confirm spec.

The "order" was put into the "interim" Ford system in Jan onwards, and then they went into the "real" Ford system in May/June which is when the clock really started ticking...

>>>Was then told the car should be available September 2015. A few delays later and the car was eventually built 19th September 2015.

Whoever said "available September" didn't have a clue. But I am in the same situation as you - my car was built on 29th Sep, and has been in Zeebrugge since 11th December. Your dealer can check on their system (Vista) where it is at the moment and Ford send all dealers an email at the beginning of each week with the latest updates - my dealer was going throught that list on Monday afternoon and I was "about to get a call with an update" - which would have been the first one ever(!)

I am sure Ford regret making such a ballyhoo when the RHD Mustang was announced, and the marketing team no doubt all got bonuses for their work - shame the "rest of the logistics" weren't ready - and really still aren't.

I expect my car in the next couple of weeks; my dealer is the closest to Southampton docks but they can't control when the cars come - they simply get a trailerfull and see what is on it...

Funny enough, I am in Southend on a meeting next week and was in Colchester at the tail end of last year.

I know its frustrating but don't cancel! Where will you get a better car for your bucks and why cancel because the dealer has given you crap information that was never true?
If only all dealers had been like mine who never gave me a lead time that was far out!

Maybe Colchester will have a new name by the time we get our cars...

For both of you, it's awful, however production didn't start until september (did it?) so really nothing much in the way of that, you've just elongated the wait on that side. But still, you'd expect them wanting to get them to you asap, being 'first in line'. Bit sh1t really, i'd be complaining to someone higher up if possible? Venting here can only do so much...

The Hendy Ford Eastleigh showroom car shows a blend date of 13th August 2015 so was probably one of the first UK cars down the line - but they didn't get it until just before Christmas...

I don't know how long it took to go via the "outfitters" before it shipped from the plant.

it does seem crazy that they build the car, and then divert it to put specific shocks on it, but since ETIS seems to update a few days after the build to have UK coils fitted - who knows what else goes on?

these are the ETIS changes that appeared for me:
• FR3C 5310 C* Left/Front Coil
• FR3C 5310 C* Right/Front Coil
• FR3C-5560-K* Left/Rear Coil
• FR3C-5560-K* Right Rear Coil

Production started with Big_G's car on the 3/4th August as he was a week before mine (11th August).
