Out of curiosity, why do you even want the v6? Even if you don't care for the better engine (which I assume your wife does mostly city driving), you cannot get any of the premium features with it.
SMH

because it is their car, their money and their decision.

sorry - i have been around car folks for a long time and love most everything about the community, except this one thing where some people always have to ask "How could you possibly not want exactly what i want?!?"

If you can find me an attractive woman that actually prefers the base model over the loaded one, I'll put a ring her faster than she can start texting her friends
I think my wife's pretty attractive and when we were car shopping for her a year ago she said something about wanting cloth because she didn't like how leather felt... Then she drove the car she wanted... fully loaded with leather, infotainment, nav, etc., and she changed her mind real quick! :)

I don't think he meant it like that at all. The v6 is only even offered in the us seems like a fair question this time around.

Some of them make you want to go home and take a shower afterwards cause they just make you feel so dirty just from talking to them:thumbdown:
Absolutely. That's one of the biggest reasons my plan for my 2015 Mustang is to sell my car outright, secure financing outside of the dealer, and pay with X plan. I can't stand dealing with them, I'm doing everything I can to remove them from the equation.

I know there are a some respectful ones out there, but you have to find the right combination of dealership and salesperson to get that experience. In my experience, it's been typically proportional to the size of the dealer. Problem is, most small dealers only have one on the lot, if any right now.

it is just how it was written?

maybe my profession clouds my vision, as i must interpret tone from the way people write. what i highlighted above sets the tone -

maybe i am quicker to defend the V6 buyers since i drove a V6 mustang for a lot of years.

not that it matters - bottom line still exists - their money, their car, their choice.

It's hard to gauge tone on the internet, I tend to err on the side of positivity unless it's overtly hostile. You could easily be right though.

My first mustang was a v6 and it was all I could afford but I didn't want to drive anything else so that's what I bought. If i couldn't afford to get the v8 this time I would probably start eating cup o noodle and Mac and cheese to get that ecoboost though haha :)

Dude you're seriously overreacting. The others about summed it up, so I won't really waste my time explaining.

But I will throw in there, from an engineering perspective, yes the ecoboost is the far more impressive engine. Just ask anyone who works for Ford *whistles*

About 2 weeks ago I was checking out 2 2015 GTs (one Magnetic, the other DIB) at Sunrise Ford in North Hollywood. I was pretty surprised to see the sticker that read:
MSRP: $38115
Vehicle Theft PR: $595
Express Code Etc: $395
Exclusivity: $7500

ADM = $8490

When I asked one of the sales reps if they accepted X-Plan he literally laughed in my face.

In CA at least there is plenty of women who would refuse premium on the basis of leather alone. (I've got one)

For her it's the price point. She's not the most experience driver and she is paying for it herself. Plus she's not a huge fan of the toggles and leather. So basically she's looking at 3k or so in savings for pretty much the same performance. I've tried taking her into taking mine and me getting a GT...

It blows my mind how dealers are marking them up like this.
I used edmunds.com to build the mustang I wanted and send an email to every ford dealer in my city and surrounding area.
I had a bunch of responses the next day and quickly found 2 dealers willing to play ball.
by the 2nd day I had a car ordered for invoice plus 100$ doc fee, no xplan or anything (didn't know about it).
My salesman gave me my price in writing when I expressed concern about dealers canceling people's orders so they could mark up the price.
They have done everything I've asked of them (no drilling/stick on adverts, 91 octane fill up, 10% tint, etc) and flat out told me they will do anything they can to make this a great experience for me.
I'll never just walk on a dealers lot out of blue again.

Now see, there's some logic I can actually agree with. Though I will note that for an average driver, the ecoboost will perform better (you have to keep in mind the instant torque versus knowing how to keep the car in the power band).

I'll never walk onto a dealers lot without doing the research beforehand. I knew what I wanted, they had it, but they wanted to play a pricing game with me. I qualify for Z Plan and they wouldn't allow me to use it towards the car and instead of arguing with them, I just left.

I've been getting calls from them daily and I always respond the same way, "I'm not giving my business to people who not only get a profit from hold back on the car, but get's reimbursed by Ford. I'm taking my business to your competitor".

I even stated I wanted to use Z plan prior to walking inside with the salesman.

Now I'll just order from the comfort of my boxers and my computer :)

Yeah, I would never not do my homework before hand; there is too much information out there not to be informed. I just wanted to see the car and get to sit in one. The place was mobbed with onlookers. I'm not ready to purchase until next summer or maybe the spring after. When it comes time, I'm ordering it from the nearest dealer who will take Xplan and who treats me well.

That's understandable. I think I would still try and sell her on a base Ecoboost over the V6 though. If she doesn't care for the leather and toggle than it's definitely not worth the $5k for a premium Ecoboost but the $1250 to get a base Eco is worth it for the better fuel economy, vehicle handling(ecoboost has the best weight distribution), and torque curve.

The Ecoboost should end up more fun to drive compared to the v6 for most people. She doesn't seem like to person to care about the sound of the engine so I doubt the speaker amplfiied sound will bother her.

Just my .02 though.
