I've done the resonator delete with h-pipe and am quite happy with the sound. Not to loud, no drone in the cabin. And for something that costs over a grand (at least for what I would want) I would want a boost in hp/tq which a catback does not do.

Seriously, get a cat back on that piece and rev for the heavens!

Well, other than a direct problem with my differential, as long as I have Ford do the calibration, I would assume nothing.
Ford doesn't have the ability to make the appropriate change, only the Whipple flare tool can do that.

ah, so your signature is a little misleading. it says "bone stock."

If you've got $1,000 burning a hole in your pocket and you want a boost in power, go for an intake and tune. Sure, you'll be a little dicey with warranty coverage, but hey, isn't the extra 30-40hp going to make up for that???

Im curious as well, why would a 3.31 be desirable, unless you were going FI or something? I would think at least a 3.55...
It's my DD. It still is geared fairly short overall, but first gear is useful and highway fuel economy is quite respectable. All that while still being tons of fun.

Lol, thanks for the reminder. Need to update that.

If i new a tune wouldn't void my warranty, that is exactly what I'd be doing. I figured a gear change wouldn't be an issue with warranty. Now if the Ford dealer cant calibrate it, now if 2015 Silver GT is correct, and the dealer can't change it, then I'm going to have to rethink this.

Longer legs less shifting. The trans ratios are pretty aggressive in the MT82 vs just about any other domestic 6 speed manual trans out there so rear gear choices don't have to be so aggressive. Seat of the pants will feel faster with 3.73 because 15% increase in torque multiplication vs a 3.31 but you are going 15% slower in each gear. 100mph max in third is suddenly 85mph so even though it revs roughly 15% faster you are going 15% slower.

Same here. When I test drove the 3.31, 3.55, and PP...I liked the 3.31 the most, but the color was not very appealing so I grabbed the 3.55 (last 2 '16 base manuals on the lot). The 3.31 is still too long for my what I'm used to, but I think it's the best balance between fun and convenience.

I'm getting used to the 3.55...first and second are too close, so I try to skip second sometimes but muscle memory is hard to get rid off (drove manual since I was 13).

If it wasn't that much of a job (and money) to swap to a 3.31 torsen pumpkin, I would do it...meaning, I don't think I'll ever do it

Doesn't exist, unless someone swapped those gears onto a torsen. The only torsen-equipped pumpkins are 3.73.

I don't have the spreadsheet in front of me, but IIRC, the standard 3.31 6 speed combination provides a lower 1st gear than the old school 4 speed and 4.30 gears from a Drag pack equipped Boss 302.

So don't think you need lower gears just because your grandfather said 4.11's were a must have for his Camaro back in the day. Modern tranys have much lower first gears than those from the 1960's.

Or for a more modern comparison:
Standard GT 6 speed: 3.66 1st gear x 3.31 final drive = 12.11
GT350: 3.25 1st gear x 3.73 final drive = 12.12
