Is it me or does the sound quality sound alot better through the andriod auto app then through regular bluetooth? I feel more bass and crisper sounds. Does the sound go through the cable or is it still through bluetooth when your phone is plugged in?

I noticed this as well. I wonder if somehow the DSP is being bypassed or something.

Strange, I was actually thinking that that bluetooth dounds better in my car. Then again, it could be that the GoogleMusic app that I use was utilizing its own EQ and maybe the AndroidAuto app is not?

Bandwith limitations on Bluetooth require audio compression. Compression is lost quality.

A wired connection can throughput more data and avoid audio compression.

Yes. Music through the USB cable has always sounded better than over Bluetooth, even before v2.2
