Can a 200 amp alternator be used in place of a 175 amp alternator? My track pack alternator is cooked and I see it originally camhewit a 175 amp one.

What I am seeing is that the 200 amp is used when the vehicle has the heated/cooled seats. I am not aware of any potential for damage that could be caused by using the higher amp unit.

That's what I see too. My tech pack has the 200 amp unit and I have fried it once as well.

Any coyote alternator from the same generation will be fine. But get a real motorcraft one. The computer controls how much power the alternator makes. But the method ford used is not usually checked on a rebuild. So, the alternator work but it will not talk to the computer, and it gets pissed.
