Thats VERY NICE.. but read what they had to do.. I can only Imagine how much that would cost.. It is a beautiful job.. I cant say a bad thing.. but that is EXPENSIVE to say the least.. 130 connections.. so they basically took the circuitboard apart and soldered the controls with extended wires.. to relocate it.. I cant imagine how long that took.. but Impressive.. looks nice.. if you have the money go get it..

Wow! We were just discussing something a long these lines... The work that they put in would probably not be what I'm looking to do. I'll keep with my plans we discussed until they simplify that one. But I do like it and would consider it in the future when it's not so much work.

Yeah... there is nothing wrong with this.. its a great install.. they invested a lot of time.. but the mods needed.. its a lot of work.. thus expensive. I think the head unit alone is 2k not to mention the labor..

Aline will eventually release a unit that doesn't require the work.. they introduced a modular 10 inch system.. so I'm sure they will have a smaller screen come along as the modular system.. it would only make sense..

Here's my question, exactly which connections did they have to change? Im guessing when they say HVAC unit they are talking about the FCIM? I do difficult harnesses everyday for testing and prototypes at one of the Big 5. I can figure this out if I know where to search and don't mind spending the time and money to test.

According to the link below, the cost of the head unit and installation kit is $4k (see post 25)

For the Jeeps that use this similar system of total integration, we charged around $3K or so, and all we had to do to connect it was a small interface module. To achieve this at the shop I was at - and a guy Johnny could do it - he'd want probably $4-5K just for the risk. The head unit itself is around $1,800 and, when I was last there, was NOT impressive at all - slow as a turtle.
