I'm planning to install an Airaid MIT on my EB this weekend. First instruction is to disconnect the negative battery cable. I'm curious as to why. Engine and ignition is off during install. Will be keeping the stock airbox and adding a green filter.

Not really necessary since the only connection you will be touching will be the temp sensor.

It's a safety/liability issue thing for Airaid. I'd do it anyways, best to be safe.
