New to mods: is Airiad worth it?

Wow, imjust installed my airaid. I'll say this, EVEN if it done nothing performance wise the look over stock is ABSOLUTLEY worth it.

So to date I have the installed th Cobb AP, and Airaid. OnLy thing left is the MF Steet Series.

I am new to Mustangs and am getting an Ecoboost (can't wait!). As for mods, my idea of a mod is to change the mats in my car

HOWEVER, I have been reading about this Airaid intake and it looks cool and it seems like something I could do.

Is this really worth it? not planning on doing any tunning, so what can I expect if I install this? is the difference in power/sound that noticeable?

any input is much appreciated.

I too have an MMR and am looking to switch to either an Air raid, JLT, Roush or maybe a Cobb... My only issue is that all of those are plastic.. :\

I love the sound of the MMR, I even like the looks but I do not like the fact it's so open.. I want something with an airbox that looks more OEM but I still want all the induction sound you get from a big metal tube Lol..

That's gonna be the JLT. It won't be as loud as a metal intake pipe (I previously had the MAP intake too), but it's still plenty loud and very noticeable. A lot of people comment on the intake/turbo noise coming from it. Also, the JLT has a larger box and filter as well. When I changed over from the MAP, I considered both the JLT and Airaid, but the JLT won out in every way.

Also, as a side note, the rotomolded plastic is better for an intake tube. It resists heat soak exponentially better than the metal intake tubes. Seeing how the plastic doesn't absorb heat quite like the metal, you also see temps return back to ambient quite a bit faster with the plastic tube vs the metal one after you've been sitting in traffic or at the drag strip. :headbang:

If you decide to go with the JLT, hit up Vinny@JLTPerformance. He can get you hooked up with a good price. I could also float you a discount code from CJ Pony Parts.

I really like my Airaid intake. Just a little more turbo spool sound and looks good. Air intake temperatures stay right at ambient.
