I posted this yesterday, but I wanted to ensure it is seen in a separate thread.
Airaid intake has been installed. We had to do a major modification in order for the filter to fit into THEIR plastic holder!
The pictures are from the install. The plastic under the top left pre-threaded hole where the screw for the top cover goes is too long and the filter will not fit securely in place. My husband had to file the plastic down from underneath quite a bit for the filter to fit like it should.
I contacted Airaid and they promptly contacted me back. I sent them the photos and they almost immediately called my husband. He explained the issue to the representative who was trying to give some pointers on how they fixed the issue just now in their shop. They suggested we take out a bolt, put in the filter, and then put the bolt back. My husband said that would not work out well since the plastic piece is still too long or the filter to properly fit with bending slightly down! They did apologize and will take the issue back to the engineers.
If you ordered an Airaid, it will fit, you just need to file down the plastic in order for the filter to be set correctly and not slightly bending down as their fix suggested. This is quite surprising by how much this intake costs that any modification would need to be done to the design!
We did get it on - not yet dyno'd and full tune. that is coming this weekend. But we can hear a difference as the GT sounds meaner with the exhaust! I'm loving it
This picture is of the top plastic piece and how far low it is.

This picture is how the filter will not fit as the metal piece of the filter cannot fit in the space under the plastic piece.

And..installed. how clean this looks!!! I'm getting the metal part of the airaid filter dipped. i have not picked out my pattern yet...
