It was at the dealer about four or five times because the A/C would start blowing hot. They replaced hoses. Compressor. Then evaporator, which required removal of the dash and took almost three months (because they were short of parts?)

Not long after the evaporator was replaced and my re-fitted dash began creaking occasionally, it started blowing hot again.I wanted to keep the car because it was so great in every other way, but I live in a desert.

Funny you mention this, as the work order for my repair also shows they replaced "two AC lines with damaged connections." Wonder who damaged them? LOL, guaranteed the guy who tried to get those two lines off the failed evaporator with the wrong tools. Car goes back in tomorrow morning for a compressor (with new bolts), at least that will be my fight. They did commit to giving me a loaner this time.
Just heard back from the dealer on mine. Sounds like same issue - ac line connector is gone.

Well ............ mine crapped today. It goes in Mon morning. My youngest checked out the system today. He is a certified ac tech. No leaks. Changed relays. Still no go. The ac clutch is not engaging. Glad we are in a cool down here in TX.

Please keep us updated brother.
Iā€™ve lived in a desert climate for 36 of my last 40 years so Iā€™ll be following this.
Iā€™m sweating just thinking about this. It was almost 100F today...krazy for October 1st.

A/C and Heating
Ford Protect BaseCARE covers basic air-conditioning components like the compressor, evaporator, and condenser. Ford Protect ExtraCARE and Ford Protect PremiumCARE each add additional coverage of A/C and heating components, including the automatic temperature control system.

I have the top of the line coverage being a high mileage driver. When the electronics crap, they do so in a big way. They are expensive to replace. My '16 Z06 was living proof. :frown:
