I have a flowmaster catback system (no offroad x-pipe) on my '13 5.0 and I'm pretty sure, based on your description, that I get the same sound that you're looking for. I'll get that popping when letting off the throttle after winding it up some. It's a rumbly pop with successively quieter pops until goes away. Does that describe what you're looking for?

Check out that Stainless Works video that was posted earlier. It has some of that backfiring sound on the overrun. I think that is what you are looking for. I'm sure many of the aftermarket exhausts will do that. Heck, many OEMs are now engineering that sound into the engine management systems (Porsche and Mini for example both do that).

Just watched the video and dang! Is that a sales pitch video or can aftermarket really change the sound that much?

Yes thats the exact sound. :) But it needs to sound real, I don't like the sounds that come out of a honda civic when they change the exhaust. That just sounds "fake" to me. And on a separate note you guys have been super helpful, thanks :) before I came here and just googled the sound I was looking for all I found was "your car isn't running right" haha

Yeah, even mild aftermarket mufflers can have a large effect on the sound, let alone catback, x/h pipe, headers, etc. Mine sounds absolutely badass. I really wanted to get Borla S-Type catbacks, but ended up with Flows because the Borlas were ungodly expensive (almost double). Not that they aren't worth it, but I had other things I wanted to do to the car as well, so they were out of my budget.

The old exhaust set up 4.6 mod was a mid muffler set up. This has changed how the cars sound. I wish they would go back to this but apparently the gas tank had to be moved up for safty issues.

The SW system sound awesome.

It is hard to tell from a video how these cars sound but it gives us a good idea.
