I LOVE my AED IRS Knuckles from BEEFCAKE!!
The AED Knuckles played an important role in my 9.89 pass with a 1.35 60'!
My previous best pass 9.93 with a 1.38 60' a week earlier was on 255/60/15's on 9.33" wide Welds. I've been running this combo for many years. So to pick 1/2 a tenth in one trip is very satisfying. You got to remember after 5 years of racing with this car there isn't much left to gain, so any measurable gain is AWESOME! The AED Knuckles will benefit HIGH HP cars even more than me, I probably only have around 590-620 HP at the crank, based on weight & MPH (3,350 @ 136.85 MPH).
I installed the AED Knuckles, switched to 275/60/15's on 11" wide Welds, went to Robbies Automotive in Augusta GA for and alignmet. This combo of tire & wheel is 13lbs heavier! But it payed off!!
I got my best 60' 1.35, and was able to stay in 3rd across the finish line with 3.31 gear, at 8,500 rpms.
Most people know I footbrake around 1,700 rpms, this is still the launch I used.
In the video below some people are confused by the grinding that is required, the required grinding has NOTHING to do with the AED Knuckle, it is the control arm that needs some grinding. Shaun Perry also has a video with more detail.
I know with time I will get an even better 60' number!
The second video is the 9.89 pass with time slips after the run.
