Ok just priced this up and it should be £38425 including shaker system, climate seats, sensors, premium paint and silver stripes. The extra must have been extended warranties they were trying to sneak in there. I think you guys are right that it was a cancelled order. I think I will probably order a new one however painful it may be to wait! That way it gives me chance to save also!!
Where do these prices come from and why do some say it is priced so much over book value?

If it has not been pre-registered and you will be the first owner then with all the options meaning custom pack for chrome surround and lustre nickel wheels the price should be

5.0 V8 GT Manual £35,745
Custom pack £1,795
Magnetic paint £595
Sub total £38,135
Silver stripe £500
Total £38,635

The Ford Configurator (not including silver stripe) matches with £38,135

Is the dealer price exactly £39K in which case it is overpriced by £365.00 so tell them and get this taken off to match the price if you ordered today.

Interestingly the Ford Mustang Price List Sept 2016 does not state the price of the Auto transmission (only with the Convertible)

This time last year I had already waited a year and I would have bitten your arm off for a brand new Mustang for immediate delivery matching my requirements.

Maybe you should have put down a deposit on the spot as it may not be available tomorrow.

I get e mails from Days ford in Swansea, they had 5 in stock a couple of weeks ago,
(various spec's) worth a call?

I know its a trek from north to South Wales but could save a few $$$$$

I would guess this car was in stock before September 1st and to be honest if you took the time to read the thread you would realise that nobody knew it had stripes

Thanks again everyone. It has definitely not been registered yet and you are right it was probably in stock before September 1st and they are using the new price list on it. It is the MY17 as it has sync 3. It has everything apart from the chrome surround and nickel wheels. I have already put a deposit down as there was a guy after it at the same time and just needed some time to think about it! The thing stopping me is I only wanted the basic spec with addition of climate seats which was coming out at around 36.6. Plus if I wait 9 months it gives me time to pay for it without going down the finance route which I am not too keen on! One last question, if I do order one do they have to hold the price it is today or time of delivery?

Price at time of order is what you pay.
As for the one you've been offered...you should do whatever you're comfortable with. If you're happy to pay a bit of a premium and it's the spec you want then go for it now and to h*ll with our opinions. I'd have paid a bit over the odds to shorten my waiting time ;)

I paid about that for mine. Sure I could have got it cheaper if I ordered but I wasn't willing to wait 8 months or so.

Don't regret it one bit!
