caniggia, if you want to be useful, don't give us so small info at a time.

You said that I was over complicated - no, I tried to be informative! We are 'hungry' of information, we need to know how things work, what materials, what specs...

You made some great mod but you give us single and tiny info every time: a video, a phrase, a hint.. I remember that some ago you said that you also have switchbacks, but without more info, I did my search and found those in this thread.
About your switchbacks, how are they? Do they have resistors or not? What socket? How much and what type of leds? How much lumens? Pictures?
When we search the net we find all type of info about these items, so if you want to be part of the game you need to tell us something more.

If you accept a suggestion, do create a webpage with all your mods: tribar led drls, switchbacks, taillights mod... with info, pictures, prices, shipping costs and so on.

This way we could have in one place the info we need to choose wisely. :)

Sorry, i'm highly busy. Yes, turn signal needs resistor as running light also.

My leds don't have boult in resistor, as they would be huge:) But i can provide correct resistor in you like (this you can buy nearly anywhere).
They are 60 dual colour leds, and they are very bright, i use them in my sequential rear turns installed in red 2005 and 2010 lamps. I have them in 3157 socket, but as stated before, i can order them in any socket you want.

All prices are in my YT videos and this is what any search engine find first, from this reason, unfortunatelly, I wont create shopping page, as selling parts it's not my main job and goal, who want's to find me, he will:) And i like better to know my customers "in person", so forums, mails, phone etc than just have plain web order.

Here you can see how bright are they (i don't care numbers of lumens etc), take into account that in parking/running light mode they are dimmed, full power is at stop and this power in enough to drive them as DRL.

Hope that clears all your questions:)

Thanks :)
I'm not referring to create a website for selling, only a page that sums up all you works, so we don't need to find info dispersed in tens of threads :)

So even your switchbacks need resistor - like the one I found on ebay.

Despite the fact that this is not his main job or goal, he still runs a business. He spent money on tail lights because he ruined one. I don't see us chipping in so he can tell us what's inside.
That's why the small amount of information.
Heck if I'd know what's inside the tails before opening them, I wouldn't be paying caniggia for him to make it. I finished Electronics and I can make it, but I don't have the heart to risk ruining one :D

The difference between him and other US vendors is that he is alone in Europe and there are maybe 3 vendors in the US. For competition sake, if one gives out sensible info, of course the others will give out the same or other information, in order to not be left behind.

I'm not referring to schematics, but I found a bit hard to pay 600 eur for a mod I only see a small video on youtube - without any other reference :)
Even if it's a free time job, having all info in one place will be a time saver for him too - instead of needing to reply the same info to every customers!

Ok so you won't do a page collecting all the info :)
Maybe not all customers are willing to do investigations to find it!

However, closing OT - we need switchbacks!!! :amen:

Look at the connector's ass. I believe there is still room for 1 wire, don't you think? Maybe a little switchback wire perhaps ^^

It's a Toshiba bulb.
Specs: 12 V 21 W and the type is WY21W (Y for amber).
To be this looks very much like a switchback socket, just with one filament, like 7440.

What I dislike a lot is that I have to take off the damn bumper or the mud protection plastic from the wheel arch if I want to check it out better. The cable is too short and there is no room to wiggle...[/quote]

I just had the time to do a google search: W21W is the same socket as 7440, or T20. It's a 2-contact socket, so we have 2 solutions:

1) find a way to put another contact in it

2) replace it with a 7443 socket that has 3 contacts

then we should route the third wire to the parking lights nearby. Don't know if it needs the resistor; US model works without resistors but the internal sound became weird :)

I should change the info on first post - still can't understand why manual reports that as a different bulb!

yes the main concern is if the replacement socket will insert firmly in the hole.
But if we need the resistor, I am more oriented to keeping intact the stock socket and use an extension harness:
male 7440 socket - wire - resistor - wire - female 7443 socket (or wired 7443 switchback bulb like this one)

I'm shipping today one set to one of users, socket 7443 modified plus custom 3157 switchback that can be dimmed also, i'll include most common resistor i use for dimming mode (only mine can on the market) and load resistor.

With dimming mode you can use it as parking light and also as DRL and turn signal.
Mine are also the only that don't wait 1 second when power is on.
Harness on connector will ba already modified and additional cable will be pulled out for parking lights.
Reason i have them dimmable is that full power it to bright for parking light, this is what i don't like on the street when people put switchbacks as their parking light. Terrible at night.
This is also cheaper alternative for those that want's to save on tri bar mod.

Also they have beatifull yellow colour in compare to that you can buy on market. Yesterday i installed most known company at customer car and mine looks tons better.

Since 2008 i had one piece damaged. 2-3yrs warranty is no problem.

Currently i have low stock on sockets, lot of leds, but in 2 weeks i'll have big stock for that case.

Set is 75 USD/EUR shipped with post anywhere in EU.
