Correct, the video below show you that there's an actuator on each side he cuts them and puts them inside the cabin to show people how much they open on each mode

Yes. One pipe is straight-through and that’s the one with the valve on it. The other is the more muffled side. So when the valve is closed, it forces the exhaust through the other side
