Thanks, as now I have a better understanding. Once break-in is down, I will see what kind of driving it takes for me to get higher numbers.
No reason to hold off going for maximum Gs other than forward acceleration which is going to be pitiful anyway since the brakes and steering wheel can easily overpower the tires and engines are so anemic in comparison.

There is nothing that needs formal breaking in for cornering Gs. You will want to be on a track or have unique public road situations to approach or exceed 1G for the safety of others and minimized risk of damage should you exceed the conditions. Generally, don't push the limits on public roads. You don't even do that on track without a reconnaissance lap or two so you know exactly the condition and grip at that point in time. But there are exceptions if you are lucky. My son went to a school they built out in the boonies. Never understood why other than maybe all the land around was owned by developers just biding their time. So there was this ribbon or road with one very sharp curve. There was nothing but graded earth on all sides for hundreds of yards. If there was no traffic, I would blast around that turn at over 1G without exceeding the 45 MPH speed limit. Never went off but if I did, no harm no foul.

As for stopping Gs, the only thing needing break in is the brakes. And that takes almost no time. I suggest using Baer Brakes' recommended procedures right away with any new vehicle or after replacing pads or rotors.

I think I'd give any set of new tires a couple hundred miles or so of easy driving, to at least ensure that all of the mold release agent had been scuffed off.

0.9g is definitely up there in the realm of "pushing it". Same loop, bigger tires, wider wheels . . . and a clear sensation that tires work via slip angles.

No way. I agree with scuffing off the release agents and anything else on the tread but that takes minutes of loading not hundreds of miles. That's why I said no FORMAL break in required. That can be accomplished before you even get the car home.

Good to know about break in procedures for car engine/tire/brake etc..

Actually, there ought to be some benefit in putting a few low-stress heat cycles into them first, just to relieve any residual stresses locked into the carcass by the various production processes. Could well be that the 200 or so miles that I've seen in various recent owner manuals is intentionally conservative, perhaps to account for unusually conservative drivers (that wouldn't mean either one of us). But I really doubt that only a couple of miles with some intentional sliding is going to be optimum.

I'll reset mine next month when I do a hpde and see what the numbers are at the end of the day. Obviously acceleration won't be there like the drag strip, but I suspect the braking will be right at 1.5 again and laterals will be at or darn close to 1g.

Cold and rainy yesterday at the track, but j reset it at the start of the day:

My best so far (at least that i have noticed) is a 1.15G acceleration on the street and a 1.1G deceleration. Didn't push the deceleration too much but 1.15G on the street included some spinning from launch. VMP car.

Naw. Pbir is a great first timer track. It's boring to me. This was at homestead.
I only have 5 days under my belt, all at The FIRM and was thinking about trying one of the night events and PBIR...

My first track day, stock car, Silverstone International Circuit (UK). As you'll see from the mileage, still running her in, hence the lower acceleration figures. No limits through the corners though :headbang:
