Accelerometer reading from the dealer

I picked up my car from the dealer with 5 miles on the odometer. When I first checked the accelerometer data it had a lateral left reading of 1.79 Gs. Is that even possible?

I've since reset it and my hardest turn has been 0.7 G so far.

Maybe if someone ran into the side of it at 60+mph. Car can't pull a 1G turn without sliding.

Unloaded, then 2 left hand laps around the hauler while checking out line lock??

Obviously not your case, but I recently looked at a new Eco Prem Vert PP1 in town that had 1.6 & 1.5 R & L lateral & 1.4 fwd (from braking I guess). Had 250+ miles on it. It was delivered to the dealer that has it. Must have been "rode hard & put away wet) on lots of demo drives.

I'd bet he has it quite a while.

mine was the same when it came it and it only had 3.2 miles on it the only thing I could l could think of was it was during testing at the factory

Whu? I was pulling 1.0-1.1gs up on the mountains last month and rear never kicked loose.

Mine said the same thing to the same side. FB posts said its impossible.,. dont read over 1.5, but i seen other places that said 1.79 also. Wonder if its some calibration test from factory?

Anything over like 1.2 is guaranteed to be incorrect data, esp with only 5 miles on the odo.. Reset it and no worries.

Must be erroneous or a small collision. Not to make you worry about that now.

Possibly. I know with the 4s tires, I still didn't feel like I hit any limits. I was behind a BRZ who was apexing into the other lanes like an idiot. I was taking the turns hard, not crossing the yellows. I never once felt the rear break traction. But I'm sure I was on the edge of pushing it plus the tires only had 2k miles on them.
