AC PROBLEMS HELP

So my AC finally went kaput like everyone else’s. So I did the regular checks, fuses, relays ect. So I decided to jumper the AC clutch to engage it through the relay. When I did so the motor heavily bogged down and almost stalled out. Any ideas? Bad compressor?
