I have a 2015 Mustang GT Prem. Any thoughts on why my AC doesn't blow cold air out the vents, but the cooled seats work fine?

The Ford shop had my car all day today, but doesn't have a clue what is wrong. I'm in a small town and my car is the first 2015 Mustang they have worked on. The ONE certified guy they have said the freon is at the right level and the compressor is working fine, but it just blows warm air out the vents. He said he will continue tracing wires and checking relays and fuses on Monday. He also told me that if they don't find something during that testing, they will have to pull out some panel, which is a major job. Figured I would check with you guys/gals to see if anyone has had this problem before and knows how to fix it before they start tearing my car apart! I just got it about 3 weeks ago. One thing I've been reading about on the net is a "stuck BLEND AIR DOOR". Does the 2015 Mustang GT have one of those?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

All cars have a blend door. It is what directs the air thru the ac side vs the heater core side. This could very well be the problem either it stuck or something electrical wrong and not telling the door to open

Thanks. Didn't know if the newer vehicles had something different to get the job done or not. I know nothing about AC. Put /DC behind that, and that's a different story. :headbang:

Yes sir..... Only real difference I have seen is the switch from a vacuum controlled blend door to a electronic blend door

Also, the air conditioning and the seat cooling are not related -- the seat cooling uses a low-power electrical unit that's combined heating/cooling depending on which wires it leads. That'll work regardless of the efficacy of the air conditioning.

Also, I'm shocked that somebody is trying to use air conditioning when I'm still wearing my heavy winter coat.

:D We had ONE warm day last week and when the auto climate control kicked in the AC, that's when I noticed it wasn't working.

Thanks for the facts guys. Learned something new today.

Two mechanics called in sick today, so they won't be working on it till Wednesday.

This weekend, I found out that the AC cold air will blow through the defroster vents, but still not through the dash or floor vents.

I just noticed that my AC isn't working either. I put it on max AC for several minutes and it was still warm air blowing out. I feel like an idiot for not checking it when I bought it but it was cool out so I never thought of it. I guess I'll be making an appointment at the dealer.

Damn rabbits

Found out what was wrong with the AC the other day. The tech found that a rabbit chewed the wires running to the compressor. I guess I was mistaken when I thought cold air was blowing through the defroster vents. It was probably just cold air from outside. Anyway, the AC is working great now!

You can see in the pic below that the rabbit even left some hair evidence behind!! :eyebulge:

Hey Ryan,

Are you going to the same dealer as before? Send over the current mileage. I'll get this escalated. :)

Well, I'm an idiot. I got a voice message that it was fixed. As soon as I heard the words that it's not a warranty issue I realized what was wrong. I didn't plug a cable back in after I emptied my UPR catch can. Live and learn I guess. Thanks to Ford service for helping out. I'll pay more attention next time.
