AC Compressor / AC Clutch Fuse: How to Disable?

Something with my AC/Heating system is making a noise when engaged - I want to disable the system for peace of mind on some longer drives I'd like to make in the next few weeks. Can someone tell me which fuse (if any) will disable the whining noise I'm experiencing or which one will prevent damage? Can I drive with this issue?
