Car has been booked into dealer for about 3 weeks, to have rear bumper done.

spoke to Mustang team, ( which have been fantastic), because dealer dosnt give courtesy cars,
so they arranged for Ford Rental to give me a car. spoke to ford Rental twice last week, whilst i was away on holiday.

gets to dealer this morning, guess what, No courtesy car.:frusty:
driver went sick lol

spent 45 mins on phone to ford rental, no joy, spoke to Mustang team, ford rental told them a different story. told me they can get me a car in about 2 hours,
ended up bringing my car home,
What an absolute joke by FORD MOTOR COMPANY.
4 hours of my time wasted and 50 mile round trip.

Poor very poor, at the end of the day customer comes first, they should of just given you a demo or manager car to drive whilst they did yours and if they give you the blah blah about insurance that is rubbish as well. All they need to do in that case is give you an extended test drive in a used car from their range and photocopy your drivers license.

It is a shame that in such regards service can be lacking so much. :(

That's bloody awful, it just gives them a bad name, how a driver goes sick and they don't have a backup is beyond me, as for the rental car, it's not hard for them to give you ANY DEMO CAR IN THAT ENTIRE DEALERSHIP. You'd think for a CAR DEALERSHIP they'd have an abundance of cars... oh wait, they do . Come on now, name and shame the dealership so we can all avoid them :) (And so when/if Andy reads this he can give them a rollocking)

Very poor from Ford. They really haven't done themselves any favours with this whole Mustang release. They should be treating you like royalty!
If the way any of us have been treated is anything like 'royalty' then i'd be shocked to see how they'll treat the queen when she buys herself one, we all know Lizzy loves her horses .

The whole dealership interaction doesn't bode well at all, I was fine with Lookers Ford Sheffield when I bought my corsa, couldn't fault the guy, gave me the level of knowledge i'd need for a Corsa, but when you're releasing your companies strongest brand into new markets where easy research will show an abundance of fanatics, lovers, and wanters for the car yet you give them the same level of information and respect that you would from someone buying a fiesta, come on now, it's a bit of a step up.

I have to give it to my dealer, as, somewhat, lacklustre in information he is to me, and how dosile he is, he's a generally good chap and whenever I do manage to get a hold of him... (...:paddle:...rarely) he's more than accomodating for my ever growing list of needs, such as bringing a valet company in to prep the car, promising no swirls/cobwebbing of the paint, allowing me to prepick a plate, agreeing the plate 'stick' not 'held on', wont release the car to me if he see's pannel missalignemnts etc. So i'll give him it on that, but a but more due dilligence, care and respect needs to be given to customers when they're buying such a brand heavy car in general, especially one that requires a long relationship with the customer, just a little bit of information here and there and just showing proactivity goes a long way.

Right that's off topic, back on topic, Ian, give them a piece of your mind, and show them what you can do with an Oven (maybe that's why they wont give you a car...)

It's very sweet that you think he's going to do all that:D....the reality is he'll do sod all and you can either take your car or leave it:lol:......welcome to the real world:cheers:

True, he can, however, we'll see - next week, when I go to pick my plate out. The whole swirls in paintwork isn't an issue for me, it's getting wrapped so they'll alco-rub the wax back off it, just a bit of protection for a couple of days! We'll see about the others, i've already warned him (and seen on file) that if my car comes with the plate holder on, I will be requesting a new bumper - Yes, i don't like the plate holder that much!

I always had a car ready for me, it should only be in the bodyshop 3 days max for bumper respray. My dealer is a Lookers, the new car sales manager usually gave me his Vignale, apart from the first time when i had their GT.

you want proper service? Pay for it with a premium brand( and yes I know all the caveats but going off personal experience) You want a mustang? suck it up. It's the car you want, not the dealership.

I agree with you, you should but you won't. They are mostly not Ford owned, they're franchised and make far more on servicing than they do selling new cars. They're not interested, motivated, or frankly any good, and Ford aren't either. It's just a fact.
Mustang is a niche product that they don't even need to market because people like us are buying them in droves.

I'm not saying we shouldn't fight it, just that it's like pushing a rock uphill. Perhaps that's what they're counting on
