There is a distinct wear mark at the tip of the sensor (see pic, drivers rear). I'll assume this is not normal ? Thoughts ? Thanks.

Have you ever had your hub replaced? (perhaps without putting in the thrust bearing (which is a small washer ring)?

Do you have any signs the hub may be going out? (Odd pinging noises, extra road noise, moments of unpredictable handlings or unexpected slided?)

Sometimes the hubs go out and when we putt them off a badly mangled thrust washer falls out.

Anyway I suspect something hub related might be wrong.

Never replaced, but it was disassembled when I changed from 3.31 to 3.73 gears.
I replaced the axle nuts, but didn't replace the washer ring w/ the 3 tabs.

Yes, a distinct clanging noise coming from that side.

Well that washer thing shoulda been replaced. If you’re getting that nosie the hub needs replacing. If you jack it up and try to wobble that wheel, it may shift might not.

Buy a new hub, new blue thrust washer, new hub nut (may come with the hub), replace hub and I guess you are doing the sensor too. That should all fix all of your issues.

Even if its not cause by the missing washer during reassembly, hubs are a wear item and fail eventually. I’ve done 4 or 5 rear hubs. Usually a ping/pang noise is what I notice first.

Turns out it was the LR bearing. Sensor is fine.
