So my factory battery finally died on my 2015 GT yesterday and after changing it out (on a side note if your battery dies, the dealership sells the Motorcraft replacement $40 cheaper than Autozone) I started the car and was reinstalling the battery cover and I started hearing a weird and fairly loud "ticking" noise coming from under the intake cover. Removed the cover and it sounds like the noise is coming from right in the TB area...you can even somewhat feel it in the intake tube.

I looked on the forums and saw the abundance of bad tick posts and instantly felt screwed. LOL...but the more I check it out the more it seems differently. I am attaching a video of my tick and i will also attach a video I took from under the passenger side where I don't hear anything.

Anyone have insight to what my tick could be from?

***video hopefully will be up momentarily....site says it is too large..only 11 seconds though***

If it's the loud tick every several seconds then it sounds like a solenoid to me.

I recall reading a few threads about the throttle body can start ticking for some reason - throttle blade motor might be going erratic. Sounds like what you're hearing.

Makes sense...doesn't seem to affect drive-ability at all, but i suppose I should get it to the dealer sooner than later.

That doesn't sound like "the tick" but it does sound like "a tick".

Please keep us posted.

yes this one sounds like plastic material tick, not metal tick.

If throttle body got confused while battery was low or being changed ->
Try a throttle body "reset/relearn". Ignition "on" do not start, Slowly push accelerator to floor (2-3 seconds), release (again slowly). Do this a 2-3 times, turn off.
Restart & see if your noise is gone.
Not real high tech, but only takes a minute or two and price is right.

It sounds like this, unless I'm hearing a different tick.
