A/C problems???

sorry for those of you with your cars put away for winter, but here in florida, i still need A/C. today when leaving cars and coffee, my car made a sputter of sorts after start up and idled weird for a second. i then pulled out of the spot and turned on the A/C to find that the driver side was blowing warm and the passenger side was cold as usual. usually the a/c cranks and is real cold but now the thermostat doesn't work and is blowing warm only on the driver side...any ideas before i bring it to the dealer?:shrug:

It was the A/C evaporator. they had the part in stock and swapped it out in a day... apparently this is happening to a lot of fords in general.

I don't have the shelby but had the same issue. It's now been in 3 times to fix it and fingers crossed, I hope I'm good now.

1st trip (car was doing same as yours, warm air on driver's side/trying to cool passenger's side):
recharged freon
reclocked actuator that diverts the air through ac or heater core
reflashed computer that controls actuators

2nd trip (ac stopped working all together):
recharged freon
replaced leaking schrader valve

3rd trip (heat stopped working on drivers side only - blows frigid air on legs and can't get it to blow air through anything but floor on drivers side - passengers side worked correctly):
replaced actuator

Pair this with all my other warranty issues and I think I have a monday car.
1)finish started bubbling up on drivers side interior handle
2)passengers side rear light shorted out causing turn signal to stop working
3)ac seat backs didn't work and actually got hot when used
4)switch shorted out causing passenger's side airbag warning to stay on
5)brakes squeal and moan incredibly loud (they won't fix this one and say the rotors are glazed but they aren't and the car did this for the last 22000 miles)
6)exhaust leak - they say it sounds perfect but it doesn't sound like it did new

Between the actuator, the leaks, and these other issues, that's 8 total in the first 1.5 years. Is that excessive?

I have the exact same issue.... Hoping it's a software issue. Just had it in to the dealer for the oil line recall. I waited for that repair and before I left with the car, I noticed the ac wasn't blowing cold at all (it did when I drove in with the car). I left it at the dealer so they could find the leak.... After several days, they told me they couldn't find a leak but charged the system up with refrigerant and had flashed the synch system with some undisclosed software patch. Had the car back for 3 weeks and all was well with the ac, then suddenly this issue starts with the driver's side only. I don't understand how it could be the evaporator with the passenger side air blowing cold.... doesn't make sense to me that the entire ac system has an issue when half of it works....

MY AC was making a horrible noise last Thursday, I'm sure its screwed. Ill let the dealer look at it next time i am close.

Had the exact same issue. Replaced the evap coil and thought it was resolved, then later this evening it seems to be struggling again to keep cold. Blows cold but comes and goes. Back tot he shop on Monday.
