Hey!

A/C went out yesterday. I've got a 2008 GT.

Before I take it in for repairs, I'm trying to educate myself about this in an attempt to not get ripped off. What type of issues could I have that are less expensive? I'm wanting to go into the shop at least knowing a little more than I know now.

As a female, I've always gone into shops seeing the "chi-ching" in the eyes of the service department. I know A/C repairs can be costly, and I'd like to start the troubleshooting process with the least expensive fix first.

Can you help me?

Main thing I will tell you is DO NOT TAKE IT TO THE DEALER!!!!! you will pay 3x as much for worse service than a good local shop. Without any information on what it needs or is doing there is not much help other than the above that i can provide.

Point well taken, I'll research a local repair shop. Thanks!
