I'm taking a road trip to Cali next month. I'm tuned for E85 but I'm changing it back to 93 for the trip. Cali only has 91. My question is, if I keep it in normal driving mode and drive it normal with the 91 will it effect it that much? 2015 GT
thanks

I'd suggest just going back to stock for the trip. Or getting revised tune that will work.

I'd have to take the CAI off if I did that and the injectors. Looks like the octane booster is the way to go. Thanks

I 100% would not run 91 on a 93 tune, I would also avoid octane booster. My line of thought is that you are basically gambling with your engine. Your car is tuned to run specifically on 93 at the moment. I would 100% go back to stock for the trip. I would feel ok running it the other way if you were tuned for 91, and ran 93. Even in that case I would still go back to stock.

Run the boostane and don't beat on it with 91 in the tank. If your driving normally until your back on 93 you'll be fine.

Don't let the engine 'lug', either. Go easy on the throttle at low rpms and try to keep the revs up where throttle response isn't sluggish.

My tune is listed as 91 - 93 octane, but is written to start at 93. Just like the stock tune, this tune will adjust using mostly spark knock sensors.

Should not any aftermarket tune retain the ECU's capability to adjust for lower than written for octane?

Run some Boostane. I had the same issue. Our 91 fuel is terrible. With the 93 tune and 91 I had knock.

I have no idea, that's why I'm asking the experts. You would think that it would though. I emailed Lund, we'll see what they say. I ordered the Boostane anyway. I used race gas octane booster in my Z years ago for high boost. I can't believe I forgot about the booster. I owe @lightrules a coke.

VP racing booster is what I use and no complaints so far.
