When I filled up tonight I looked at the pump for 93 at my local gas station. They are one of only a couple of stations in OKC that even offers 93 octane gas. It was at $4.49 a gallon while the non ethanol 87 was $2.59 a gallon.

Not sure if this was answered but just to clarify, what kind of HPtorque gain can a livernois/lund/Bama 91 tune yield on dirty California 91 octane?

I don't have numbers, just a sh!t-eating grin every time I open it up. I have the LMS tune on my stock GTPP with CA 91 gas. It's pricey, but worth it IMO.

Have you done any other performance mods or just the tune by itself and have you seen a difference in mpg? Thanks for sharing

Well I've only had it for 4 days or so, so I'd say my mileage has gone down haha. But I did test some hwy driving in 6th for a stretch, and was able to get around 24-25mpg whereas before 21-22 was the best. I have 3.73 gears, so that doesn't help with the mileage. Not a scientific test by any means, but I believe you could eek out a little better MPG if that's your thing.

The difference in octane will only yield a loss of about 10-12hp/tq. It really is not as bad as you would think!

Op I just got the Lund and jlt from lethal performance. They are the best around. Can't say enough about their services. And Lund sent me the tune in literally 15 min. I too do not have 93 octane north of the city. I installed the jlt and flashed with Lund today. Can't really test it out due to our weather today but hot damn that throttle response is SICK. She broke loose in 3rd gear and at 45 mph. 91 in the tank... i think haven't drove my car in 2 weeks until today so I don't remember what I put in it. Roush ab and lethals killer h pipe will be here tomorrow :)

10hp? That seems like quite a bit when you are getting only 20hp from 93 (Anthonys youtube vid says +22whp) $600 seems like a lot for a 10hp gain on 91, or am I way off here?

You are somewhat off - I bet the 22hp gain still holds and you simply start from a lower base to begin with. In other words stock 91 octane is 22hp lower than 91 tune and stock 93 octane is 22hp lower than 93 tune. But yes, stock 93 is ~10hp lower than 91 tune. and stock stock 91 is ~10hp lower than stock 93.

Thank you for the clarification, and you are on the money. The power loss occurs on both the stock tune and our performance tune as well, due to the lower octane. So you will still have the similar gains relative to your baseline power using 91 octane.

Who has the best "dirty" 91 octane tune? Im prepping for my purchase and would like to be tuned before ~500 miles with intake and exhaust.

we can get you dialed in

as far as "dirty", if the car doesn't like the octane, it will pull timing, if it likes it, it will add

Did you mean to say they can remove timing based on the octane/fuel quality(knock readings)?

The only place I have seen 93 octane in OKC was over $5 a gallon the last time I looked.
$5/gallon! Jeez what a rip. I buy 93 octane every day in Nashville for about $2.65.
