Easy take out... did mine and replaced shifter boot and e-brake boot!! Videos are available... simple job!!

I think there is a blank version for cars with no sync. but its hard of the whole shift boot housing. You'll have to take it all out and replace that full ring.

There are GT350 versions that have it blank I know of, not sure if there are normal GT ones too. I assume the GT350R version is blank.

if I went that route, would be giving up the green stitching on the shifter boot? Or can I mix and match?

It started with my choice to replace the shifter boot...no green stitching on mine! Went Alcantara Suede! Both the shifter and e-brake have the green stitching! Just a choice thing! You can do anything you want!!

You can remove the boot from the ring and put it on the other one. I plan to just buy a spare and fill in the SYNC lettering with DHG touch-up paint.

If I may make a suggestion, the area of the center console that could really use a mod is the chrome with the "SYNC" letters embossed. I mean, who cares what kind of 90's-looking operating system the car has? We all use CarPlay or Android Auto, and futz with Sync only when we need to. Replace "SYNC" with "BULLITT" or nothing at all, and I would buy it.

A plate that sits over the existing chrome could work. Anodized in DHG with personalized laser engraving would make it special.

That looks really nice, and could probably just snap on with a magnet. I'm not sure what text and color I would choose. My sensibility is minimalist, so probably just a black plate with Bullitt cut out to show the chrome (no number). But maybe the green! Definitely some other folks on the forum will prefer that.

I'd honestly be amazed if the ring is really metal and not plastic.
