It was stated by Ford that the 5.2 will go in other vehicles.

It isn't going in the GT, nor the Raptor...

Where else are we going to see this engine? Am I the only one asking this with all the excitement of the reveals?

Maybe a MACH I engine but GT PP suspension? That would be nice...I can dream

When/where did Ford say anything about the 5.2 going in another car? As far as I know it's GT350 only.

Pretty sure they said they wouldn't develop this Flat Plane motor and stick it in just one car. I will have to do some digging but I remember reading it or seeing it in a video at one point.

In an Interview with Jamal Hameedi he only acknowledged that its not out of the question that it would be optioned in other vehicles or even sold as a crate engine package. He did not confirm anything.

Only thing they said was it may be offered as a crate engine. There is no way they would give away info on future vehicles so carelessly.

Actually he was pressed with the question of a Raptor possibly with the 5.2 and he didn't exactly say no. He Didn't say yes either. All you can come away with from that interview is anything is possible.

It is their policy to not confirm or deny anything about future plans, doesn't mean anything and definitely not what OP is suggesting.

I agree. The question was weather the Raptor would get The 5.2! The 5.2 is the GT350 engine, but the answer he gave was ambiguous at best. :)

There was a LOT of the same ambiguity when the talk about the VooDoo project was getting tossed around. The majority of people doubted it. Yet, here it is. If its going to be offered as a Crate engine, then its not out of the question to see it in some form in another vehicle. We'd be short sighted no to think that perhaps a new Halo car from the Lincoln side of FoMoCo might not be lined up for some iteration of this. If they are serious about an innovations division then the purpose for those innovations would be to bring them to Market and to actually benefit from them. So its not out of the question for the Luxury label to benefit from this. Especially since Cadillac apears to be moving forward. Lincoln really needs to come back with their own answers. This could potentially be that answer. Like I said. All we can come away with is that anything is possible.

It's completely possible for Ford to make an engine for one model car for only a few years.

5.8L from the GT500 anyone?

That was the send off for the end of life for the s197's and the GT 500 mill. But that Trinity 5.8 liter mill was based off the 5.4liter mill and simply bored out and plasma treated. It was technically nothing new...just unique and innovative treatments to what was already available to push the boundaries to the next level for the 2013/14 model year. A process that was then utilized to increase the displacement for the 5.2 liter mill based off the 5.0. and lead in with a FPC motor for the 2016/17 model years. The Trinity powerplant taught them how to handle the VooDoo powerplant. But, that 5.8 2013/1014 might not really be the last we ever see of it? Since the GT350 is a US/Canada vehicle platform only... And we don't have the strict CAFE regulations hitting us here... a GT500 iteration is not out of the question with another 5.8. Of course thats simply saying... Anything is possible.

The Condor family (5.4/5.8) is dead. The production line shut down and was converted over already

This simply means they retooled current operations to meet new demands in a new direction. Its just as easy to retool again based on any future demands. Who's to say the possibility of a completely new platform that will be in any future 1/4 horse like a future GT500 might not come into play again. And since Ford does have a cool habit of giving a hat tip to their past successes it wouldn't be unrealistic that the 5.8 liter might come again in another engine platform. The current 5.0 certainly has a predecessor based on a completely different technology. And the Boss, The Cobra, The Shelby are constantly recycled and reinvented. The 2013/14 GT500 is certainly a hit. Who really knows what the end of life of the S550 platform will bring back to life.

My main point was that the expense to develop this new design, get through reliability testing, government and emissions requirements, it would make no sense to just put this in one car.

Ford could have easily done a forced induction 5.0 and threw it in the GT350 with all of the other bells and whistles. They did this new design for more than just one car. Maybe it was a dream but I could swear I heard this when the FPC was official.
